I don't really care about the splatoon manga but I also believe it must be canon Emperor and Prince are related to Pearl somehow because:

-They are all named after monarchy (Pearl's Japanese name Hime means princess, Emperor, Prince)

-Emperor and Prince were designed by the game artists and not the mangaka

-They are all rich

-They all live in a mansion

-They have gold/yellow tentacles

-They all have crown imagery

-They all use Enperry dualies and wear Enperry stuff

I think that antishipping is in fact harmful.

It is human nature to want to explore things that are taboo. This is something that literally everyone experiences in some capacity. By boxing yourself into antiship spaces you are only telling yourself and others that it's not ok to explore these things. It's not ok to wonder if 'bad' things can be enjoyable, your thoughts have to be pure 100% of the time and if you dare step out of line then you are a person deserving of the worst...

When you type it out, it sounds a lot like purity culture right? I was raised Catholic, I used to be an antishipper myself and I can promise you that it's literally the same thing in a different font.

People on TikTok were jumping me cuz I made a video hating on pearl and someone asked me “what do you hate about pearl” it’s how similar she looks to the playable inkling, idols are meant to be unique to the playable characters… she isn’t and it bugs me
