I have plenty of ideas for my Angel!Iruma AU with the pairing of Leiji/Iruma/Razberry. But I also started thinking about other ships like IruSoi, whatever the ship name for Sabnock and Iruma is, and Love Trio. So I made incorrect quotes for all four ships.
Iruma, in his true angelic form: Be not afraid.
Leiji, staring like a focused cat:
Razberry, shameless: Darling, this is the sexiest moment of our lives.
Iruma, not sure how to respond to that: ...
Iruma, confused: Be... more... afraid...?
Iruma, using his phone to film: I fell into a trap... I went in for a kiss and now... he's got me. And he won't let me go.
Sabro, clinging to the precious angel: Mine.
Iruma, trying to get free: Yes, I know, but eh!
Sabro, tightening his grip: Mine.
Iruma: Eh!
Sabro: Mine!
Iruma: EH!
Sabro: MINE.
Iruma: EH!
Sabro: MINE!
Iruma, giving up and stopping the vid: Hells damnit!
Purson, playing the trumpet:
Iruma, wings out, attempting to chirp along:
Purson, pausing for a moment before going back to playing:
Iruma, attempting to vocalize:
Purson, having to stop because he's having severe cuteness aggression:
Iruma, giving another chirp:
Purson, going over and gripping Iruma by the shoulders: I am going to BITE you.
Iruma, flustered and confused:
Iruma, having enveloped Clara with his wings because he's in a mood:
Clara, who doesn't understand what's happening but loves it anyway:
Asmodeus, trying to sneak around Iruma to go see if what's happening is normal:
Iruma, grabbing him and dragging him into the wing embrace:
Asmodeus, who has gone very still and is very red:
Later...
Lied: Ok, Iruma, how about you give Azz and Clarin back to us, ok?
Iruma, who is very much so brooding and doesn't want to let his soulmates go: HISSSSS!

Me, staring at the wall and ceiling as I twist around in bed, zoning:
My brain, having the ideas at the ready: Hey~.
Me: Tf you want?
My brain: For the next part of your Mydei/Caelus fic, write the spicy stuff to start with. There's just something about a situation where a character is like "This may be the last opportunity we have to love each other, so I am going to worship you and burn this experience into both of our minds."
Me, considering it:
Me: Alright, fuck it. Why not? Let me read a ton of fanfics in advance and do research so that I find out what I'm supposed to be doing.
My brain: 🥳
Yep, it's happening. I just need to do all the research in advance because stuff like that is not my area of expertise when it comes to fanfics.
So I once read an IruKiri fic where Iruma was an angel and shenanigans happened with Kirio and Iruma became a fallen angel. I'll have to look up who wrote the fic on AO3, but I started thinking about this. And my mind came up with...
... This sort of thing, but with Razberry and Leiji. And I started having all the thoughts.
While the fanfic didn't go into a lot of the specifics about Iruma as an angel as IruKiri was the main focus of the fic, I put an idea in my mouth and suddenly I'm vomiting up some idea about lore.
Iruma had an angelic ancestor and the blood was watered down through the generations until it reared its head in Iruma. Iruma kept his wings hidden because he didn't want to have them taken away, believing that he was a freak.
He keeps it hidden in the Sullivan household too. ... Until he sneezes hard enough that his wings just pop out of his back to fluff up (he never learned how to control his wings). Opera gets the fright of their life and Sullivan is making Windows error noises when he realizes that two humans had an angelic child. Sullivan is still raising Iruma though.
The Guardian of Cutthroat Valley and their chick are the first two to clock Iruma for what he really is. They would never harm him though. The Guardian considers Iruma a hatchling angel (and therefore harmless and in need of protection) and their chick thinks highly of Iruma since he healed them.
Iruma continues to keep this secret to himself until he meets Balam. While he does manage to fool Buzzer initially by saying he's a human (which is technically true since he has human parents and therefore should be human), he is found out later.
How? Iruma was in an empty room and weaving a protective spell around Babyls with holy magic, and he had just finished up when Balam came in after looking for Iruma. Iruma practically shrieked and jumped like a cat, but it was too late. Balam had seen the white wings and halo and had passed out. Iruma was now crying as he tried to wake up his teacher.
Afterwards, Balam questions Iruma, asking a lot of questions (and helping Iruma preen his wings because the boy clearly hadn't preened his wings at all). Iruma answers every question as truthfully as possible, never once setting off Buzzer. Iruma then starts crying, begging his teacher not to tell anyone about it. Being human was bad enough, and he didn't want to figure out what anyone would do to an angel. Balam agrees because he's weak to the little hatchling's tears and because he's protective over Iruma.
(And later, when the protective spells put little markers of holy magic over Shiida and Atori while they work at Babyls, it's enough to have Balam watching them like a hawk and that in turn leads to the rest of the teachers noticing the markers and also watching the two. Atori is found out during the exam while Shiida's marker flickers occasionally. The rest of the teachers realize that the markers indicate threats. Balam in particular is realizing why Iruma expended energy to put wards on the school.)
A lot of time later, during the incident at Levialon, Balam has an idea to have Iruma place protective wards on that school too. He calls Opera about it, and they get the chair demon over so he can also confirm it. After a lot of planning, they get a plan in place.
Once the incident is resolved, Balam goes to Lady Levi and talks about laying protective wards on the school that will indicate potential dangers. Lady Levi agrees to this plan and Balam goes to Babyls and grabs Iruma. Before Balam is allowed to take him there, Opera makes it clear that no one is allowed to know about Iruma being an angel and that if Balam doesn't keep an eye on Iruma while Iruma isn't setting up the wards, they will thoroughly discipline him (Balam shudders and agrees).
So, Balam brings Iruma to Levialon. Lady Levi and Leiji are surprised that Iruma will be laying the protective spells, but Balam makes sure to tell them about the spells he laid to protect Babyls. Iruma is flustered by the praise and asks to be shown to an empty room since he will need a silent space to focus on weaving his magic throughout the academy. So he is led to an empty room and is left to his silence.
While Balam and Lady Levi are speaking, Leiji gets extremely curious about the wards since he's never felt the power that Iruma radiates from behind the door. So, when Iruma starts wrapping up, Leiji takes a quick peek... and proceeds to get blinded by angelic radiance. Leiji closes the door quietly and then knocks after a moment, asking Iruma if he is done. Iruma confirms that he is and Balam also confirms with Buzzer that Iruma is indeed done. Iruma steps out looking normal, but Leiji can't forget the sight that is now burned in his mind.
Before Iruma leaves with Balam, Leiji follows them out and thanks Iruma for his assistance, proceeding to take Iruma's hand and kissing the back of it (Lady Levi is crying tears of joy thinking that her grandson is practicing manners). To Leiji, it is respecting the beautiful angel that cared enough about the school to protect it with his magic and also something he just wanted to do. To Iruma, it is an unprompted gesture that is making him short circuit. (In the background, Balam is radiating murderous intent. Stay AWAY from his hatchling, Leviathan—)
After a while, Iruma then goes to Jackapo to lay protective wards there too. This time, Kalego joins him and Balam (Balam ranted about what Leiji did and Kalego will never admit he felt murderous). Lord Belial is happy to greet Iruma and Razberry is there too because he wanted to see Iruma again. Iruma is happy to say hello to Razberry and the two immediately get to talking at a mile a minute.
After some idle chatter, Iruma is led to an isolated room and he goes in to get to work. Razberry isn't subtle about his curiosity at all though, constantly trying to get in when he gets curious which leads to him getting tied up by Balam's vines as Balam scolds him. Razberry is far too happy because it's amusing, and Balam sets him down after a while.
When things start winding down and the adults are busy talking, Razberry sneaks a peek inside the room... and gets blinded by angelic radiance. Razberry stares for longer than necessary before he closes the door. Then he decides to kick it open once he senses everything is done, only giving the warning of "I'm coming in!" before busting the door open, making Iruma hide his angelic features quickly. Balam is quick to restrain Razberry and drag him out of the room. Iruma emerges looking normal, and watches Razberry laugh as Balam and Kalego both scold him.
When Balam, Kalego, and Iruma go to leave, Razberry comes running up and hugs Iruma while Balam and Kalego watch suspiciously. Lord Belial is a little invested. Balam and Kalego are right to be suspicious though, because once Razberry finishes thanking Iruma, they watch as Razberry kisses Iruma! On the cheek! Both of them are feeling murderous while Iruma is short circuiting. Lord Belial just gasps like he's witnessing a new pairing come into being (y'all know the gasp). Razberry only chuckles before waving goodbye with a cheeky smile. Iruma manages to wave back and then proceeds to collapse once he's back home.
Leiji and Razberry are teaming up together to court the pretty angel that is Iruma, finding all the knowledge on angelic courting that they can. Sure, they may be rivals for the throne, but they also want to court Iruma (who is supposed to also be their rival). If they play their cards just right, they'll have their angel and no one will be stopping them.
So, on one of their outings (w/ detection warding glasses, of course), Leiji and Razberry decide to put their courting to the test. Leiji is the one who keeps others away, shielding Iruma from others and snapping if they show too much interest (protection is a part of angelic courting, and only really works if the angel is okay with being the delicate one on occasion and trusts the one courting them). When they sit down to eat, Razberry orders a lot and ends up hand feeding Iruma (providing is a big thing in angelic courtship, showing that you will put their needs before your own). Iruma is incredibly flustered, but he lets it happen.
One thing they both do together is physical contact. Leiji has his arm mostly wrapped around Iruma's waist for the outing and is rubbing small circles while Razberry is either clinging to Iruma's arm to get his attention or has his arms around Iruma's neck. Everyone around them is seeing an overly affectionate triad. Iruma doesn't garner why they are so affectionate, but it makes him feel warm so obviously they shouldn't stop.
Leiji and Razberry also try out nicknames just to see how their pretty angel reacts to them. Leiji uses "treasure" and "my pearl" often, which flusters Iruma enough to make Leiji think it's cute. Razberry decides to throw subtlety with the force equivalent to a bullet out the window and immediately goes for nicknames like "little dove" or "angel" which nearly gives Iruma a heart attack as he tries to find out whether Razberry is teasing or if he knows (Razberry gets scolded by Leiji later).
Razberry and Leiji do invite him on more outings, courting him not in their way (because it is far fetched to assume an angel knows about demonic courting) but in what they believe to be his way. Iruma is having a crisis where he realizes he is definitely not straight (he probably knew and just wasn't ready to accept it) and that his instincts as an angel are reacting favorably to two demons. So miniature crisis.
The two demons have also been getting quite bolder, marking him with their scent (Opera definitely had a field day the first time Iruma came home smelling like two possessive demons), and getting more touchy. Razberry is still clingy, but he also starts adding kisses to the mix, peppering Iruma's face with them just to make him shy because Razberry thinks it's cute. Leiji still does the arm around the waist and the circles with the finger, but now he's also nosing at Iruma's neck to take in the scent of an angel and leaving small nips. Iruma always short circuits.
Iruma does end up shyly confessing after one of those outings and sharing the secret of him being an angel. Razberry and Leiji accept because they had been courting him specifically because they wanted him and assure him that it must have been a hard secret to keep (they knew). They keep their relationship on the down low though. Mostly because they still have their roles to play.
The rest of the Misfits don't know what's happening with Iruma, but they definitely get suspicious when they see him smiling at his phone and then he hides the screen from all of them. They're all planning to find the person and give them the most intense shovel talk in demonic history. They make intensive plans and Ameri walks in on them while that's happening. After learning about Iruma's new behavior, she gets in on it once they suggest that Iruma got a girlfriend (not right, not wrong). So now they have to find out who Iruma is seeing.
Iruma, Leiji, and Razberry also end up getting engaged because Iruma had a bad feeling after nearly getting sent to the human world and only managing to get out through changing his look. Since the two have been reading up on angelic customs, Razberry happily suggests an engagement seal. Angelic seals of engagement not only mark a person as taken, but because they are connected by magic, it means that when the bond is still fresh (it remains fresh for a good decade), the partners must stay in the same realm and any attempts to separate realms ultimately end in failure.
Not to mention that engagement seals can be hidden and only show up when the marked partner wants them to. So no one would know. Leiji agrees with Razberry (one of the times they will agree) on the points and both of them look at Iruma. Iruma takes a while to consider it before he agrees to it and places the engagement seals on Razberry and Leiji (on the left hand for them both as it is most proper).
That means that when DBC tries to shove Iruma into the human realm, he just flies right out. They try again and again until they're all trying to keep calm. Opera is definitely confused, but they aren't complaining about how difficult Iruma is making things. Iruma tries to go, but he shows that even that doesn't work when some invisible force sends him flying away from the human realm. DBC is trying to pull their hair out because they don't understand what's happening. Meanwhile, Opera has realized what is happening and is trying not to break their restraints to go hunting because who the FUCK got engaged to their kit?!
Iruma is watching the chaos happen and decides to fuck all the way off, making his grand escape. Which is helped by Opera throwing hands because why you fucks so incompetent? So now they not only have to worry about Iruma, who has already escaped, but they also have to worry about Opera who is attempting to bash all their heads in.
Iruma just goes to Jackapo and hides from the chaos. Razberry is more than happy to see his angel, and most of the other students there just watch with complete shock as the significant annoyance that is Razberry actually chills out while cuddling with Iruma. They know to steer clear though. Except for the ones who think that Iruma is up for grabs and proceed to get their asses handed to them by a possessive, pissed off Razberry.
Iruma then goes to Levialon to cling to Leiji and while most of the students there are confused (Urara is definitely confused), the confusion is lifted when they realize their supreme commander will NOT let Iruma out of his sight for a second. In fact, anyone tries to take him out of Leiji's sight for a chat. Suddenly Leiji is there like an omnipotent presence and gives no warning before beating them up. He then proceeds to spend the rest of the day biting Iruma because clearly the people who work with him don't know that Iruma is taken. Needless to say, all confusions were cleared up.
Lady Levi and Lord Belial definitely have a field day realizing that their grandsons are possessive over Sullivan's grandson and are internally weighing the pros and cons. Leiji, Razberry, and Iruma will reveal their engagement when they want. Many people will lose bets. Many people will also give Leiji and Razberry an intensive shovel talk.
Ok, so I found the IruKiri fic I was talking about on AO3. It's called "falling (for you)" by IcyPhoenix. And I had more shenanigans in mind for this idea I had.
Specifically, here are some things I thought about when my mind tumbled down the rabbit hole that is the ship of the three grandsons with Iruma as an angel.
"Leiji, Razberry, you know that my wings aren't brittle, right?"
Iruma sat on a cushion while Leiji and Razberry took on the daunting task of preening an angel's wings. They were determined to make sure that they didn't cause any unnecessary pain for their precious angel. It had taken a lot of effort to get their grandparents and Sullivan's scary security devil to agree to this little outing together where they'd be spending the night. And that wasn't even counting the number of times their relationship was almost found out. So, this privacy was a good thing for them.
In response to Iruma's comment, Razberry laughed cheerfully. "Silly! Of course we know! We just also know that your wings, being that of an angel's, need to be treated delicately, like a priceless treasure. The fact that you are allowing us to help you preen these beautiful wings is an honor in and of itself. It means you trust us, and we intend to keep that trust."
Leiji nodded. "It is as he says. You are our treasure, our crown jewel. To betray your trust would mean losing your heart. We have no intention of letting our precious angel think badly of us."
Iruma sighed. It was just preening to him, but the fact that it meant so much to his boyfriends made his cheeks warm. They were really taking this relationship seriously and it made his wings lightly flutter until he remembered to keep them still so Leiji and Razberry could continue without incident.
It took a while before the two demons finished the arduous task. When they finished, Iruma shook out his wings before they folded back to where they rested. Iruma turned to them. "Thank you. I know it must have been difficult for you two."
Razberry waved a hand. "Don't sweat it! We need to be able to do this much if we're going to get married to you!"
Leiji nodded seriously while a record scratched in Iruma's mind. What...? He processed what Razberry said before his wings popped out involuntarily while his face burst into flames. Iruma stammered while his wings flapped nervously, his halo's light flickering like it could sense Iruma's amalgamation of emotions. "M-M-M-M-Marriage?! H-Hold on a moment! Isn't it too soon to be thinking about marriage?! We haven't even made our relationship public, nor have we talked with the people we need to talk to...! I...! Ah...! Um...!"
Iruma was about to explode when Razberry seized his flapping hands in his own while Leiji slipped behind him to still his wings. Leiji looked at Iruma calmly. "Iruma. We brought up marriage not because we were thinking of marrying you so soon, but as a way to express what we wanted later on down the line. When we are wed, we want to preen your wings with confidence, knowing that you chose us. And what better way to practice for that future than to practice in the present where we have an opportunity?"
Razberry squeezed Iruma's hands. "We look forward to a future where we can call you ours openly. That's why we practice for it in this present moment. Because we want that future where we can remain yours. If we show you we're serious now, if we show you just how much we love you through these actions, then maybe you'll gain confidence in us and know that this relationship will last."
Iruma inhaled, his mind going to thoughts of the future. Of waking up to Razberry and Leiji holding him, greeting him as a new morning dawned. Of sleepily allowing them to preen his wings because he only trusted the two of them to do it in the comfort of their home. Of all three of them helping each other get ready for another day while talking about what was on the agenda. His mind continued to wander, continued imagining this future. And it made him feel...
"Iruma?!"
"Hey, why are you crying?! Did we upset you?!"
Huh? Iruma touched his cheek, startled to feel the dampness of his cheeks. One look at Razberry and Leiji showed that the two were panicked and surprised, respectively. Iruma wiped at his eyes, sniffling. "I'm sorry... It's just... Thinking about a future where I'm actually with the demons I love with no fear whatsoever... It makes me so very hopeful... And so very happy..."
Iruma felt the two relax instantly. Razberry and Leiji both embraced him, holding him between the two of them as Iruma continued to wipe away the persistent tears. Razberry cooed, rubbing his face against Iruma's, while Leiji nuzzled his face into Iruma's neck, planting kisses along the column of it. Iruma's crying eventually lessened as he relaxed into the affection that was given so freely.
Razberry smiled. "All good?"
Iruma nodded, smiling. "Mhm... Thank you... I'm sorry I was so emotional..."
Leiji pinched Iruma's side, making him jolt. When Iruma whirled his head to look at him, Leiji had moved a hand to Iruma's cheek. "Do not apologize for that. Yes, your emotions are clear, but it is meaningful. It means you long for that future, our future, and that means that you love us. Never apologize for loving us."
Iruma looked at Leiji before he smiled. "Yeah, I suppose you're right... Thank you..."
Leiji's face softened before he leaned down to press a kiss to Iruma's lips. Iruma leaned into it, happy to receive affection from him. When Leiji pulled away, Iruma's face was turned towards Razberry, who seemed excited. Iruma smiled and initiated the kiss. Razberry hummed delightfully against Iruma's lips, pressing closer. When the two pulled away, Iruma watched Razberry and Leiji stare at each other. Knowing that the two were probably going to attack each other to kiss, Iruma rolled out of the way right as Razberry pounced.
Iruma watched the two kiss each other like they were starving, likely getting their energy out of the way so they didn't attack Iruma. Iruma folded his wings into his back and left them to make out, finding his pajamas and changing in the bedroom. The one bed situation was something he would have to bring up (he was certain Leiji and Razberry had done that on purpose), but he didn't care much.
Iruma did have to admit that he was a little bit miffed though. Leiji and Razberry roughhoused with each other often, but then they treated Iruma like a porcelain doll that would crack with the slightest pressure. It was getting annoying! Did he have to slap a sticky note on his head telling them to be rough with him?! He wasn't a fragile doll!
Iruma couldn't help the growl that left his throat before he left the bedroom to go to the refrigerator and snack on something, forgetting the fact that he hadn't buttoned up his pajama shirt fully and he would be walking right within Leiji and Razberry's sight.
Iruma was finishing up his snack when he suddenly felt a danger sense. Turning his head, he saw Leiji and Razberry staring at him, tails swaying like predators looking at prey. He looked at them, feeling nervous. "Um...?"
Iruma screamed when they both pounced on him.
...
Razberry pouted as he wrapped bandages around Iruma's neck. Leiji looked chastised as he wrapped blankets around Iruma's torso. Iruma was just looking at them both with fond exasperation.
They certainly knew how to bite. Iruma had never been so terrified and yet so calm in his life. He gave a small huff. "You know that I can make a salve for myself using my feathers, right?"
Razberry bopped him on the head. "It's our fault you're like this. Let us help."
Iruma patted them both on the head. They were both acting like kicked puppies. It didn't help that their tails were practically squeezing Iruma's legs. Once the bandaging was done, they both hugged Iruma and buried their faces against him. Iruma looked at them. "Come on... You know I'm fine. I was startled, yes, but I'm not mad about it. You two were just behaving a certain way."
Leiji grunted while Razberry let out a dramatic, pitiful sigh. Iruma continued to stroke their hair while shaking his head. He hadn't minded what they had done, really. It was just a lot of biting and possessive gripping. Thankfully they hadn't gone all the way or Iruma might have seriously been a bit mad.
Iruma just stared at the ceiling after a while, letting the two demons he loved sulk about loving him a lot. One day he'd properly communicate his wants to them. Not now though.
(Opera nearly had a heart attack when Iruma came back to the house reeking of Razberry and Leiji with some bandages on him. They only calmed down a little bit when he lied and said that the two had gotten into a fight, he had gotten involved and gotten injured, and that the two had patched him up while apologizing.)
So I once read an IruKiri fic where Iruma was an angel and shenanigans happened with Kirio and Iruma became a fallen angel. I'll have to look up who wrote the fic on AO3, but I started thinking about this. And my mind came up with...

Even more incorrect quotes for Dadlego. I love this overprotective father who will only admit it when he's dead. Also going to be some Balam x Kalego because I love the ship.
Balam: Kalego, why has Cerberus attacked the members of the student council?
Kalego, not looking up from grading: Was the student council president with them?
Balam: Yes...?
Kalego: There you go.
Lied: Ok, has anyone made any progress in getting close to Iruma?
Asmodeus: Valac and I get noticed in a heartbeat when we try to approach him.
Purson: He's had his Cerberus sniff me out once he realized I was using my ability.
Elizabetta: He won't budge no matter how much I use my bloodline ability!
Kerori: He just follows Iruma when I take him out to do a job....
Jazz: He's put tracking spells on Lied, Caim, Gaap, and I.
Agares: I'm watched like a hawk whenever I approach.
Allocer: I'm not allowed to discuss anything outside of studying with Iruma.
Sabnock: He has Master Balam keep an eye on me if I go train with my rival.
Lied: Ok, so all of us are screwed. Good to know.
Iruma, not thinking: Father?
Kalego, grading in the Royal One: What, brat?
Iruma, still not thinking: Where's papa?
Kalego, not looking up: Shichiro is in his office.
Iruma: Ok.
A few minutes later...
Iruma, realizing: Oh devi... I called Kalego-sensei "father"!
Iruma, horrified: I called Balam-sensei "papa"!
Meanwhile...
Kalego: That brat called me "father"...
Kalego: And Shichiro is "papa"...
Kalego: Shichiro is going to love it once he gets over the shock.
Cerberus, appearing next to Iruma:
Narnia, watching: Ok... Kalego's Cerberus is there... He's surely going to find out and—
Cerberus, picking Iruma up with the center head and carrying Iruma off with no aggression:
Narnia: ...
Narnia: What the...?
Cerberus, throwing paws at the other faculty members:
Robin: Why is Cerberus so aggressive at the moment???
Orias: Probably because it believes we are far too close to Iruma.
Raim, looking at Kalego: Can't you call Cerberus off?
Kalego, raising an eyebrow: Oh, so this is my problem? I'm not interested in calling Cerberus off. I like watching you all get smacked around.
Marbas: Yeesh...
Balam, patting Iruma on the head while Cerberus is chilling:
The other teachers: ... Cerberus is biased...
Kalego: Iruma, repeat after me.
Iruma: Do I have to...?
Kalego, narrowing his eyes:
Iruma, sighing:
Kalego: I will not...
Iruma: I will not...
Kalego: Go running off without a guardian...
Iruma: Go running off without a guardian...
Kalego: Because...
Iruma: Because...
Kalego: The Misfits are idiots.
Iruma, sighing: The Misfits are idiots...
Kalego: Alright, good talk. Don't die and don't go making out with those idiots.
Kirio, showing up at Babyls: Gonna go find Iruma-kun and expose his secrets... That should drive him into despair ❤️...
Kirio, finding him: There he is... Hang on...
Cerberus, lurking around Iruma and patrolling around him:
Kirio: ...
Kirio: On second thought, this ain't gonna be as easy as I had hoped...
Henri: I'm going to need to interrogate Iruma about—
Kalego, who is plotting manslaughter: Try it.
Henri, looking at Balam: ???
Balam, shrugging helplessly:
Balam: Father, I want to introduce you to my son.
Banhachi: Shichiro, you're with a man—
Balam, holding up Iruma: Kalego adopted him as his pup.
Iruma, who is very nervous about this: Hm...?
Banhachi, staring at Iruma:
Banhachi, looking at Balam: Shichiro, keep a very close eye on your son or your mother might steal him. And so might I.
Balam, nodding: Will do.
Iruma, confused: Wha...?
Iruma: I'm curious. I've met papa's family, but not yours. Why not—
Kalego: Iruma, the day I let you within five inches of my family is the day my brain stops functioning.
Iruma, raising an eyebrow: Are they that bad...?
Kalego: To me? No. To you? Yes.
Iruma: Understood...
Kalego, in his evil cycle, texting Balam: Bring Iruma.
Balam, showing up with Iruma: Kalego, why did you want Iruma?
Kalego, picking Iruma up and walking back to his room:
Iruma, confused: ???
Balam, following curiously:
Kalego, getting in bed with Iruma and wrapping the blanket around them both:
Balam, dying because of the cuteness:
Iruma, who doesn't know what's happening but is hugging Kalego since it's warm under the blanket:
Kalego, calmer, pulling the blanket over them further:
Hi, saw your Wtdsik post about Iruma and his trauma,
may I inquire as to what your headcanons for his (and possible others characters, like balam, and others') health problems may be (and possible why?)
personally I Hc Iruma to have semi- frequent heart palpitations from the mental and physical strain of his life
My headcannons for Iruma's health problems? Sure, I can answer that!
Personally, I headcannon Iruma to have arrhythmia and heart murmurs because of his stress from his old life. Sometimes, his chest gets tighter and it feels difficult to breathe... (You bet your butt Kalego would have a field day just going through paperwork when he suddenly feels something wrong with his master's heart. He is going to angrily demand answers one way or another.)
I know I mentioned that toxic stress led to other health problems, but there are definitely nutritional deficiencies (he ate grass as a child). Which has probably led to many missed health milestones including (but definitely not limited to) stunting and wasting. Because that can happen without the right amount of carbs, proteins, and several other important things that the body needs.
Because of his "diet", I also headcannon him to have mineral deficiencies (an iron deficiency is high on my list of headcannons). He's only just managed to faint off screen. But that also means he gets dizzy easily and has to be steadied often.
My brain, drunk for some reason: What if you made a fanfic where Welcome to Demon School Iruma-kun was a visual novel and the main character was transmigrated into the protagonist, Iruma? And there were routes that corresponded to his classmates and everything was fine?
Me, thinking: Ok, sounds hinged...
My brain, not done: Then what if you made going off the main plot of the game turn the whole thing into a psychological horror where the teachers are the ones who "save" 'Iruma'?
Me: ...
Me: Okay, brain, what the fuck have you been smoking that I haven't?
My brain just comes up with anything at this point. WTF is it on?
More Incorrect Quotes featuring Iruma and Dadlego Because I'm Not Normal About It:
Iruma: Is it normal to want to kiss a guy?
Kalego, narrowing his eyes suspiciously: Why? Who's put their hands on you?
Iruma: No one?
Kalego, internally sighing out of relief: 😮💨
Iruma: Is it a bad thing?
Kalego: Yes. Don't do it. You're too young.
Iruma: ... Sensei, I'm 15—
Kalego: Too. Young.
Iruma: Balam-sensei, do you know if something's wrong with Kalego-sensei?
Balam: There shouldn't be. Why?
Iruma: Yesterday, he threw a large book at Sabnock's head because he was "too close to me", hissed at Purson when he hugged me for longer than five minutes, and dragged me behind him when he thought Azz-kun and Clara were "suffocating" me and spent the rest of the lecture fighting off the rest of the class. Not to mention the other times he's chewed out every single person in the class who gives me physical touch for longer than he deems necessary.
Balam, trying to hold back laughter: I-I'm sure it's nothing serious...
Iruma, who doesn't quite believe it but nods anyway: Ok...
Ameri, flirting with Iruma and his oblivious self not getting it:
Kalego, in the faculty office, pausing mid-sip of tea and narrowing his eyes at the wall: 😐
Iruma, having fun reading until the door is kicked open and then is scrambling to hide the manga: 😨
Kalego, walking in: Iruma, I need to talk to you about your grades.
Iruma, blinking: But aren't my grades fine—?
Kalego, picking him up and walking out of the room with his usual expression: Shut your mouth.
Ameri, who doesn't know what just happened: ???
Robin: Hey, Iruma! What are you doing in the faculty office?
Iruma, exasperated: Kalego-sensei dropped me off here and told me not to leave because, and I quote, "Some of your classmates are being stupid about you and I can't stand the sight."
Balam, trying not to laugh in his little corner:
Iruma: I'm not allowed to leave Balam-sensei's side unless absolutely necessary.
Meanwhile...
Kalego, absolutely incensed: The next time I see any of you little brats tainting Iruma with your lustful eyes, all of you are dying.
The rest of the Misfit Class, realizing that Kalego is Iruma's father figure and they have to get his approval too: ...
Kalego, hovering behind Irumi (after finding out Iruma crossdressed) with a murderous expression as he looks at everyone else in his presence: ...
Kerori, in Kuromu attire, whispering: Why is he here?
Iruma, sighing: He said he doesn't trust security to do their job properly...
Kerori: Overprotective father figure alert.
Iruma: He's not my father figure...
Kalego, actively throwing hands with creeps and summoning Cerberus to scare off any other creeps:
Kerori: Sure...
Iruma: Kalego-sensei, you can not keep interrupting my outings.
Kalego, raising an eyebrow: Oh, so you hate me.
Iruma: No! I just want you to go back to not caring about me...
Kalego, staring at Iruma: I don't care about you. I care about your education and those other brats are a distraction.
Iruma: Sensei, please... This is not necessary.
Kalego, deadpan: Iruma, respectfully, I will die if I do not insult your classmates and the student council president.
Iruma, torn: ...
Balam, trying to keep his mouth shut to stop himself from laughing:
Henri, internally as he approaches Babyls: Ok, I will get an answer from Iruma and take him to safety.
Henri, approaching Iruma: Ok, there he is. Now to just—
Kalego, materializing out of thin air next to Iruma and looking right at Henri: 🤨
Iruma: Huh? Kalego-sensei? Where did you come from?
Kalego: You aren't in class. I'm dragging you back.
Iruma: Kalego-sensei, it's lunchtime—
Kalego, already dragging him away: I don't care.
Henri, processing what he just saw: ???
Balam: Kalego, when are you going to admit that you actually care about Iruma and consider him your pup?
Kalego: Shichiro, the day I admit anything to anyone else is the day I'm dead and buried.
Balam: You're not denying it?
Kalego: You don't consider him yours too?
Balam: ...
Kalego: ...
Both of them start making out.
Fun stuff, incorrect quotes. Also yes, I'm a shipper of Kalego and Balam. They are cute together.

So, I'm a part of the Welcome to Demon School, Iruma-kun fandom and before I took my Human Growth and Development course (one of my summer classes for my current summer semester), I was just reading the manga like normal.
Until I learned about toxic stress from a TED talk my professor had us watch. After that, well... Rant beneath the "Keep reading".
HOW THE FUCK IS IRUMA NOT COMPLETELY FUCKED UP HEALTHWISE?! HOW?!
IRUMA'S PARENTS HAVE BEEN PLACING HIM IN HIGH STRESS SITUATIONS SINCE AGE ONE. ONE!! CAN YOU IMAGINE HOW FUCKED UP HIS BODY IS?! HE'S BEEN GOING THROUGH IT FOR 13 YEARS!! HIS BODY IS STILL DEVELOPING!!
HIS IMMUNE SYSTEM?! HIS HORMONAL SYSTEMS?! HIS ENTIRE DNA?! HIS ENTIRE HEALTH ALTOGETHER?! HOW IS IT ALL NOT COMPLETELY FUCKED UP?! FUCKING HOW?! THERE'S NO FUCKING WAY IT ALL DISAPPEARED AFTER BEING ADOPTED!!
EITHER IT'S THE AIR OR THE FOOD OR THE MAGIC IN THE AIR, BUT YOU DON'T ERASE 13 YEARS OF TRAUMA TO A PERSON'S BODY OVERNIGHT OR EVEN AFTER A YEAR!!
Part of the video I had to watch talked about the Adverse Childhood Experience study (might not be getting it right, I know the acronym was ACE, would recommend looking it up). It also talked about how higher ACE scores correlated with worse health issues.
Do you know how many times more someone with a higher ACE score was suicidal than a person with an ACE score of zero?
12.
12. Times. More.
Iruma's mental health has to be extremely fucked. There is no way all of it is adaptive (live-saving). Some of it has to be maladaptive (harming). All because of that toxic stress.
Not to mention that those with toxic stress were more likely to have cancer and other health diseases.
If you all needed a reason to hate Iruma's parents more, here you go. I was absolutely aggravated when I learned about this and then looked at Iruma's treatment again.
I hope Iruma's parents die in a ditch/aggressive.
I also hope Iruma gets a weighted blanket and some actual therapy. He's 14, throw him at therapy.
Anyways, just me being absolutely pissed about Iruma's childhood.
So, I started thinking again (a dangerous pastime for me, really), and I was suddenly interested in actually talking about Iruma's fucked up physical and mental health. More beneath the "Keep reading".
Let's talk about before Iruma got into the Netherworld first. Forced to work from age one, Iruma has been put through repeated stressful situations. While we can acknowledge his danger sensing instincts, we also have to acknowledge that prolonged/repeated exposure to stress hormones can lead to toxic stress which is maladaptive.
Continuing my talk about the Adverse Childhood Experience study, I looked into heart diseases that correlated to a higher ACE score. Before you continue, I want you all to take a guess as to what sort of heart disease made me more incensed.
Made a guess? Great. Here you are then. The one that shocked and aggravated me most.
Heart failure.
Heart. Failure.
Imagine Iruma continuing to live with his parents, still growing up in that stressful environment. He would have had over 40 percent of a chance for heart failure (and still might, because continue to consider 13 years of repeated trauma).
Let's also consider his appetite. We all know that for Iruma, food was scarce and he often ate grass. Despite how fucked up his digestive tract must be (he has to at least be somewhat anorexic), he eats large portions. But why?
My first guess was that Iruma's taste buds were affected by his "meals" and therefore because he couldn't taste, he couldn't savor his food. But that was tossed out the window in the Harvest Festival arc. He can still taste, so that isn't why he's a black hole.
My second guess was the presence of Alikred. The gluttonous feeder ring feeds on magic and has quite the appetite. Could the magical appetite of the ring's entity be affecting Iruma's appetite to make him crave large quantities of food to consume mana.
Now to bring up Iruma's mental health. Because we obviously have to talk about that.
Let me start with before Iruma came to the Netherworld. Because I think part of that is the reason we see Iruma grow.
I have a few theories and guesses as to what Iruma's mental health was like, but I will say without a doubt (a little headcannon of mine) that he had both mild (maybe) depression and high anxiety.
Before anyone goes for my throat, let me explain.
Iruma has been neglected by his parents and has never truly had any friends his age. Being ousted by both parents and peers, Iruma's mind would twist slightly and he would grow depressed as he would feel isolated. And for teenagers, who thrive on social interactions just to put labels on things, Iruma's isolation was dangerous and harmful to his mental health because he was alone.
As for anxiety, that one was obvious. Jobs can be stressful. Iruma is a teenager. But because he's never gone to school and learned about deadlines early on, any job he's had that has had a deadline has made him anxious. That's also why he's bad at studying. No school. He's never been in a situation where he's had to really study and he's not used to basic math or complicated terminology. We also have the life-threatening situations that would also raise anxiety.
Not to mention the "training" his parents gave him to never say no...
Now, let's get into Iruma in the Netherworld.
When Iruma is sold to Sullivan, he genuinely wants to say no to him. He doesn't like that he's been sold by his parents. Sullivan knows how to use his words though and Iruma becomes his grandson. A little bit after though, while Sullivan is planning Iruma's education and Iruma is trying to protest, Sullivan makes a remark that had Iruma refused, he would have eaten Iruma, Iruma gets terrified. Iruma's seen animals that would gladly turn him into a meal and Sullivan's words bring back that trauma.
That's also why Iruma is so anxious around his schoolmates. If Sullivan brings back that trauma, then the school anthem and the reminder of what his schoolmates are bring that trauma to the forefront.
Also, he doesn't know social norms or have any experience with people other than being ignored, being made to do things, and he's worked with a lot of adult coworkers. After all, he's 14. That's also why he's wary of his own classmates and teachers. They all terrify him because he doesn't know how to talk to people.
When he looks at his teachers, all he sees is another boss. That is anxiety inducing because of Iruma's experience with jobs. It's also because of this that he doesn't rely on his teachers. Because if they're the bosses and he's the worker, that means they won't help him. So he's already got the mindset that he has to do the work himself and that asking for help would make him bad at his "job" as well as make him a burden. He only relies on others when it is necessary.
That's also why when he is shown repeated "kindness" (looking at you, Kirio), he tends to latch on quite quickly. He's never had a reliable senpai who he can really talk to, so he latches onto Kirio even when Kirio turns out to be dangerous. Balam is the first teacher to show concern and kindness even though the teacher is terrifying physically and that makes Iruma latch onto Balam enough to trust him with his identity as a human. Asmodeus and Clara are the first of his peers to actually be friendly to him and so he latches onto them as his first friends. He even relaxes with Ameri at times because of their love of the same manga.
Iruma gets attached because he's never had good experiences. He's still nervous with his classmates, has never relaxed with Kalego because of how aggressive and indifferent Kalego is to him, but another person he grows attached to is Purson.
Why? Because though Purson is always looking indifferent, once he starts talking, Purson spills everything out. Iruma realizes that Purson is socially awkward and he understands to an extent. Why? Because he's the same in some senses. He acts as a shield for Purson and also acts a voice when initiating communications when first negotiating with the rest of their class for the Music Festival. He's acting the way no one ever acted for him. He's never had a shield or someone to act as his voice. He's playing a role to support someone else.
I could go on forever about this, but I think that's enough for me for now.

Do y'all remember the meme where a guy is proposing and there's a guy with a sign that says "SAY NO" on it? I was thinking and had a funny idea for my "Warden of the Aether Cores MC" AU.
So while Dottore is doing his little thing in 6.3, trying to recruit Aether to his side, Aether keeps seeing his eldest daughter (Zhu Lijuan/MC) and she's holding up a sign that says "SAY NO" because she disapproves.
This insane maniac of a man will not be taking her father on her watch! Only she and her sisters can decide the level of insanity that their father can court.

This was an idea I had for my "Warden of the Aether Cores MC" AU regarding Aether, but it was a funny idea nonetheless.
The idea was of the Sinners being absolute freaks for the cosmic monstrosity that is the Aether of this AU. Platonic, romantic, you name it. Aether basically kicked open the door to the spaceship and started looking for his sister, finding her presence strongest in Khaenri'ah.
But also, imagine if it was before the fall of Khaenri'ah. What do you all think about that? Should I add a during/after the Cataclysm reblog?
Before the fall of Khaenri'ah...
Imagine Surtalogi meeting Aether and fighting with him because Aether is a "monster". Aether, having none of it, absolutely bodies Surtalogi in one go. From then on, Surtalogi bothers Aether constantly, wanting to fight this cosmic monstrosity (like his future student's student). Aether keeps on beating him and Surtalogi keeps chasing him.
Imagine Vedrfolnir seeing a vision of a cosmic entity roaming the lands, looking similar to their new princess (Lumine), seeing the monstrous being, and trying not to think about it again. Upon meeting Aether and hearing his story though? He's absolutely lost. The entity that is Aether is a big brother too and it shows. Vedrfolnir empathizes with him a lot. They are very amiable with each other.
Imagine Rhinedottir meeting the cosmic entity while collecting alchemical ingredients for her experiments. Aether learns about the different ingredients and gets interested in how mages and alchemists do things in Khaenri'ah. Rhinedottir now has a (secret) experiment partner who makes gathering ingredients and general experiment work so much easier. It helps that his innate magic can help contain the damage her experiments cause.
Imagine Hroptatyr who was trying to capture a creature for a class to teach the students about and bumped into Aether that way. Aether sedates the creature he needs and then teleports Hroptatyr back to the edge of wherever the wise one strayed. Of course, that doesn't stop Hroptatyr from interrogating the cosmic being and Aether smacks him away like an oversized cat.
Imagine Rerir (+ Tholindis) out on a date when they come across Aether. Aether watches over them as the energy is unstable and he's currently working on stabilizing it. Tholindis asks a lot of questions that Aether answers to the best of his ability. He's looking for his sister, no he doesn't have a romantic partner, and he's not going to say his exact species. Aether tolerates the two of them and keeps the secrets he knows.
