a wonderful world

I am Kareman, a Palestinian mother from Gaza, and we are still alive after 475 days of war that began on October 7, 2023, and ended today. However, despite being alive, pain and sorrow have not left us. Everything around us has turned to rubble. I once said, "This pain will end one day, and I believe in that," but I never imagined that the pain would follow us in this way.

We returned to our home, only to find that the pain has deepened. Our home, which once embraced us, is now destroyed. The fishing boat, which was our only source of livelihood, was consumed by fire, taking away all hope. The fishing nets and equipment, which were our means of survival, have been burned. My husband, who supported us with his work, now has nothing but memories😭💔

As for me, I was a children's teacher, teaching them to love life despite the difficulties, but my school, which was once a place of hope, is now nothing but ash. We have lost everything, but we still hold on to hope thanks to Hamoud, who gives us the strength to keep going.

Today, we need you more than ever. We ask for your help in repairing my husband's fishing boat, as we have no other source of income. If we don't get the support to repair it, we will remain trapped in a cycle of poverty and need. But if we stand together, we can rise again.

WARNING SPOILERS FOR OSOMATSU SAN SEASON 4!

I thought about doing another one of these with choromatsu this time because of how he is acting in season 4 recently. Maybe you could also call this a character study as well, but I like to call it an analysis cause it sounds better to me.

Anyways, lets start with season 3.

In ep 18, everyone tries to stop nyaa Chan from dating osomatsu because of how much of a shitty asshole he is. When choromatsu finds out about this, he gets devastated because of how much he loves nyaa chan. So when he tries to tell her to not do it, he is all damaged and unkempt.

But nyaa chan stops him and says how he shouldn't call her nyaa chan and that she doesn't know him at all. He than gets absolutely ruined by the realization that nyaa chan never acknowledged him at all, even when he cheered for her. So he than proceeded to move overseas, get arrested, and be one with nature. All so he could try and forget what happened.

Choromatsu tries his best to be professional and the "breadwinner" out of the brothers, but he has flaws with how he desperately wants a girlfriend like the rest of them and how he is obsessed with his favorite idol. A simple rejection from her completely destroyed him so badly that a sight of a cat near him, makes him freak out. (Until the very end when he gets one with nature.)

Now I would like to talk about his relationship with ichimatsu.

In season 2 ep 3, ichi and choro get alone together after the other brothers leaves to go to pachinko. They become very awkward with each other at first cause they didn't really interact with each other before this. It isn't until later that they start to get along and sort of understand each other. Until at the very end when the others come back and they cry tears of joy because they were so awkward with each other.

Luckily though, they get a lot more screentime with each other. So their relationship gets more time to truly grow after that.

Now I want to compare the two of them both in their high school versions, to their adult version.

They both have some similarities with each other.

they both tried to be proper in highschool.

Ichimatsu tried to fake a smile and act extroverted so that he could have friends. Even going as far as to do things he doesn't like just so he could keep his friends.

Choromatsu acted like a grade A student, calling his teachers tentei and saying goodbye to everybody at school. Despite this, he has awful grades and keeps dirty magazines in his bag. This is evident when he imagined having a friend that was interested with the same things as him.

2. They both can get a bit bossy. (Loud)

Choromatsu is always the straight man a lot of the times when the other brothers does something stupid. Trying to tell them what not to do and try to get them in order.

Ichimatsu doesn't usually boss around, but in season 2 ep 9, when he tries to sleep and everyone else gets too loud or won't turn off the lights; he gets pissed off and yells at them for not sleeping like they should.

And finally...

3. They both have specific brothers they hate.

Ichimatsu always hates karamatsu for how flashy and 'painful' he is, always seen wanting to kill him and shut him up whenever he even tries to talk or even be nice to him.

Choromatsu always had fights with osomatsu because of how childish he acts. Usually bosses him around the most, and always says how he is a lost cause when it comes to getting a girlfriend or a job.

Its no wonder ichi and choro become pretty good friends with each other. They both aren't that much different than they think they are. Hopefully we get to see more of their relationship together cause i do think their interactions have a lot of potential.

Now back to just choromatsu,

specifically with his imaginary friend.

Choromatsu reunites with his imaginary friend to a cherry blossom tree, talking about "their" high school experiences together. Both good and bad. (Yandere choromatsu was not on my book back when I first watched the episode. They should really do a yandere set. i'm surprised they haven't already to be honest.)

Than, in the final episode of season 3, choromatsu goes out to a whole bunch of cherry blossoms with so many people chatting and being friends and he just...simply stares at them all.

(just realized that it almost seems like he was about to cry here until totoko talks to him. Poor frog boy.)

This shows how choromatsu feels alone. Without friends, (or at least really close friends) he feels isolated and distant from other people. Its probably the reason why he tries so hard to find a job and/or a girlfriend. He wants to be around other people that like him for him. He wants to feel important and loved for who he is. (The imaginary friend skit was in ep 23, literally two episodes before this one. I feel like this was intentional in some way.)

Now its time to finally talk about season 4.

In ep 2, everyone slowly turns into controlled watermelon people and start to try and get people to eat watermelon to also turn into one of them.

Choro and Kara becomes the only two left and start to hide, karamatsu than sees choromatsu trying to eat a watermelon and tries to stop him. Choromatsu than says this.

Choromatsu sees himself as someone holding karamatsu back from surviving, offering to sacrifice himself so that he could help kara. He doesn't see himself as important anymore and is in fear of losing more of his family and friends.

Because if he loses even more people that are already close to him.

He'll truly be alone.

And he can't take that reality.

Now its time for the reason why i wanted to make this analysis in the first place.

(I already sort of made a much shorter post about this, but now I kind of want to bring this back and explain a bit more on this.)

Remember in season 2 where choromatsu gets a new haircut and everyone else hated it and it ended with him being humiliated for it and acted like he was forced to make it look like that?

Well, here's a reason why I brought that up.

In ep 3, ichimatsu decides to get a crew cut after everyone was getting bored and the others get surprised by this. Choromatsu than tells karamatsu to not tease him about it. Saying this.

This I think is a nice nod to how choromatsu doesn't want his brother to experience what happened to him back when he had a messed up haircut all the way back in season 2.

Later on in the episode, slowly all the other brothers start to get a crew cut and choromatsu freaks the fuck out. He than goes out to try and get one until todomatsu is there and starts to cry and...well...

Okay.

Time to overanalyze all of this.

"I'm... Weak."

"I look like I've got it all together, but i just can't hold up until the end."

Choromatsu explains how despite the fact that he seems to keep it all together. (aka, acts professional and proper) he is a weak man that can't keep it together. He wants to be seen as anything other than a hopeless loser, but he can't. because he is that.

"What's so wrong about crew cuts?"

Back to the choromatsu incident, he did it because he wanted to be seen as cool and different. Seeing his brothers getting a wild haircut probably got him back to that and wants to join in without worrying about being seen as weird since they got a weird haircut too.

"Please, todomatsu. Let me go."

"I can't bear it anymore. Pet me out of my misery."

He can't take being seen as weird or a loser, wishing todomatsu to just leave him so that he can be true to himself without worry or kill him so that he wouldn't look down at him. (This is the second time choro wanted to die in this season.)

And we see all of this...

BECAUSE HIS BROTHERS DECIDED TO GET FUCKING CREW CUTS!!!!

than he gets the haircut and everything is fine in the end. :)

Okay, so admittedly I have no idea how to end this...

This post took WAY longer than it should be and I am kind of really burned out now and want to stop this.

Sooooo....

TLDR: choromatsu is depressed and needs some love and a therapist. 👍
