Red Potions - Useful for More than You’d Think
A fun little drabble inspired by a discussion in the discord.

Obviously, they were used to monster ambushes at this point. In their line of work, who wouldn’t be?
But “used to” and “prepared for” were two different things, and it had been quite a while since they’d last been to a town or village to restock on potions and other supplies. Meaning they were having to save and ration out what they did have for emergencies only.
Legend was fine with this. He was the one that took a large part in making sure they rationed things correctly, after all. And he wasn’t as prone to getting injured as others in their party were.
Which was why it was mildly annoying when a damn bokoblin got a lucky strike on his thigh in the middle of the ambush. He’d gone down - not hard, and not after disposing of the bokoblin first, but his ability to stay on his feet was definitely compromised in that moment - which of course alerted the others to the fact that he was injured. And alerted him to the fact he was the only one that took a hit this time around.
Why the hell was he the only one injured? Wild almost always walked away from a fight like this with at least a few cuts.
Legend continued to grumble as Four knelt next to him and rifled through his bag.
“No, no potion,” Legend said, raising up his hand to stop the other.
“We can allow the use of a potion for this, Legend,” Time said. “You won’t be able to travel with an injury like that, and we need to keep moving.”
“I don’t need a potion,” Legend repeated, really wishing that the others would just accept what he said and move on.
“Don’t be an idiot,” Twilight said. “You heard the old man, you need to be able to travel. And don’t think I’m gonna carry you.”
“Ugh,” Legend groaned, running his hand through his hair.
Ignoring more insistents from the others to take a potion, Legend grabbed the pink part of his hair and promptly stuck it in his mouth.
He could feel the effects of the red potion he had dyed his hair with starting to work on his leg in time with the sounds of confusion coming from the others.
Four was the one to notice what was happening, being the one who was closest to Legend’s wound.
“Wha-” he began to ask just as Legend promptly spit his hair out.
“Did you know,” he said smugly, “that red potion also makes a fantastic hair dye?”
