Dutch: I see Dutch as either being a small time cult leader/televangelist or a used car salesman and there are no in-between

Hosea: I feel like he would kind of be the second in command to whatever Dutch is doing whether that be scamming people out of their money in made up religious orders or selling people used cars for exorbitant prices

Susan: Susan is a type of woman who you know would be the manager of either a retail store or a restaurant and you know she runs it like the military (she reminds me of my old boss)

Arthur: I imagine Arthur being a biologist. either having a masters or doctorate in biology/agricultural biology and he uses that primarily for research and such, but I can also imagine him getting pulled into working at a college or high school as bio a teacher, hesitantly at first, but it grows on him.

John: i’m honestly not too sure about him, but I feel like whatever his career would be, it would come second to his family. he’d be clocked in at work and just be bouncing his leg counting down the minutes to when he can go home and see his wife and son.

Sean: it’s not a job, but I feel like Sean would thrive as a frat boy. I feel like that would be right up his alley and he would have such a good time. Because a lot of frat boys I’ve come in contact with become business majors or finance majors. I think he would probably fall into one of those but not because he’s passionate about the job just because it pays the bills and then he can go out on the weekends and drink with his buddies.

Bill: electrician. I don’t have a concrete answer as to why I think this, it just feels like a career that a closeted gay man who is over compensating his masculinity would pick up. I have no evidence or rationale to back this up. It’s purely vibes.

Javier: he strikes me as someone too transient to work a job that is based in one place, so I think whatever he would do would involve traveling. Maybe he’s in a band, maybe he’s an engineer, idrk.

Kieran: maybe I’m focusing too much on the fact that Kieran likes horses, but I feel like he would be a veterinary tech at an animal hospital that specializes in livestock animals. Specifically a veterinary tech though, the vibes are very different.

Charles: I think Charles would be a high school history teacher

Pearson: unsurprisingly I feel like Pearson would be a line cook in a small restaurant. Not the head cook or anything, but he does have a YouTube channel where he posts cooking tutorials and the videos don’t ever reach more than 100 views but he feels like he’s in the big leagues.

Lenny: Lenny was a really smart guy and I feel like he would be in a job that reflects that, maybe a lawyer, doctor, or something else highly regarded. 

Reverend: to me, no matter the universe reverend Swanson is still a hot mess. he’s like that family friend who kind of just couch surfs.

Micah: dead. Or a crooked cop.

Karen: an actress. not a famous actress, more small roles in commercials and such and she’s waiting for her big break

Mary-Beth: computer science possibly something in surveillance/data collection 

Tilly: some kind of businesswoman. maybe an accountant or a project manager.

Molly: I feel like she would make an absolute killing hustling old men as a sugar baby, but that would be more of a side thing and other than that I think she would work in STEM. 

Sadie: Firefighter, SWAT, military, pretty much anything high risk.

Strauss: I think lone sharks transcends time so he would still be a lone shark.

Abigail: she would be some kind of business owner and she would run it largely from home so she could be with Jack while he’s young.

Uncle: a general freeloader, but he always has money and no one‘s quite sure where he gets it from. He claims he’s a freelance truck driver for work but no one‘s actually ever seen him leave town. 

I’ve been working on this turnaround for a while, between class and personal stuff, I haven’t had much time to sit down and make something just for fun. Lately I’ve been really interested in the idea of Damian becoming a doctor (because of some of the recent story beats), and I kept thinking about how that would actually play out realistically (Or as realistically as Gotham gets).

I think his true calling is being a healer, but realistically the American healthcare system would probably infuriate him. I see it going one of two ways: either he ends up like Dr. House, constantly breaking rules until he gets fired, or he becomes a vigilante medic treating people the system ignores, working in dangerous spaces, and being where he’s needed the most. This design was born from that idea.

I pulled from his older suits that I love, gave him looser pants to ground the silhouette and give it a material arts vibe, and leaned into the sharper, triangular shape language that shows up in a lot of his designs.

Reworking the Robin logo was challenging, not because of the design itself, but the color. I couldn’t use red because of the Geneva Convention, so I had to rethink it which I think ended up working out.

I was also stuck between style and practicality. Damian is very fashion-forward, but he’s also extremely practical. So this suit isn’t anything revolutionary, but honestly, I don’t think anything will ever top his grey, black, and red suit. That design is pure peak.
