Am I gonna have to remind people that having little to no empathy isnt an excuse to violate people's boundaries because you don't need empathy to obey to instruction of "hey dont do that".

I really dont wanna have to remind the gang that having little to no empathy does not mean i cannot comfort my friends when they need it. It just means that I cannot do it through traditional means.

God do i need to remind folks that empathy is the ability to place yourself in someone's shoes to understand and connect to what they are experiencing and it is not a reflection of someones personal morals.

I've always thought the idea of calling this a "community" a bit... odd. we're all just individuals sharing a disorder, after all. and our beliefs are all so varied, are we sure we can form a cohesive group out of it?

forming a community solely filled with trauma survivors is dangerous for everyone involved. some of us don't necessarily have the perfect sense for what's right and what's wrong, and clearly that's a point of contention amongst many of us.

honestly, everything just needs to stop. infighting will lead us in circles, and it already is. everyone who was involved in the fallout of the CAE server should just take a break from Tumblr, even from the whole internet. maybe just for a week or so. this isn't good for any of us. it'll do so much if we all just rest for a bit. take a moment to collect our thoughts, process everything that's been happening, and come to a conclusion at a later date.

not everything needs an immediate response, even if it feels like it's demanded. it's best to consider all of the information over a longer period of time than just a few hours. a philosopher doesn't come to their conclusions on a whim, do they? a scientist won't have the results within minutes, will they? why should this be any different?

i don't remember the exact argument red made about shutting down the conversation, but dark blue explains it closely enough in the first screenshot. i do remember making an argument after teal's message that "apparently pointing out ableism is accusatory now", but no screenshots of that were taken.

I suggest not villainizing parts because if they’re programmed parts (like me) they literally cannot help it and reprogramming is a really difficult process. I was brutally tortured until I had finally been conditioned and programmed to fight and torture other people/animals in grotesque ways. Obviously I don’t like most of you. Obviously I am going to lack some compassion. But I am not too far gone. I was a child when I formed, and I was forced to do the things I did. I am actively trying to deprogram, cut me some slack

if i can derail from what this blog was intended for (fine if not), this doesn't just apply to persecutors, trauma holders, symptom/emotion holders and such but other parts including those in administrative/'important' roles such as protectors and gatekeepers. our (now ex-)emotional protector has had several breakdowns and threatened to kill ourselves on multiple occasions because he was repeatedly called useless by other parts for not being able to do his job. it messed him up immensely and it was not okay for any of to do that; it's something we seriously need to work on.

it doesn't help anyone. don't ridicule or put down parts, even jokingly. no matter their role or capabilities. they're part of reason that person/you are alive.

If you're white or any other race that isn't BLACK then you have no right to be telling people that they can't say their own word. I see so many white people try to "control" the word nigga, and get "offended" when it's said around them.

Maybe it's because I don't care for other people enough but you have no right to have an opinion on the N-Word if you aren't apart of that race.

Think of the word bitch, when you call someone a bitch obviously they're going to be pissed off because well, you called them a bitch. When you call someone a bitch in that tone and in that way anyone would be offended.

Now look at it when you're joking around with your friends, calling them “bitches”, “assholes”, and all of these other words, you're joking, you're saying it in a joking/playful manner, theres no offense taken, right? That's because you RECLAIMED the meaning of that word in that time.

Now take that logic and put it in the word nigga, or ANY slur for that matter. When I call another black person (or any of my friends who are comfortable with said slur) I am using a reclaimed version of that slur, I am not calling another black person "nigga" in a offensive, derogatory way. When two black people call each other nigga it's more so in a playful manner, we are taking the original term of that and RECLAIMING the original meaning of the word.

It's the reason people call each other "faggots" when messing around with their friends. They are RECLAIMING the meaning of that word.

I see way too many people shaming on poc and black people for using their own words in their own group of friends/community. Obviously theres a VERY big difference if your friend isn't comfortable with the word which then you and your friend should communicate about that, but if you are a random person on the internet sticking your nose into communities where you don't belong and then getting "offended" about the things going on then you don't have the right to complain. Another thing I'd like to add is NOT EVERYONE ON THE INTERNET IS WHITE!! This is another thing i see way too much. No, there isn't a way to "act" white, no, a certain THEME doesn't make you "act" white. There's NOTHING that will make you "act" like a race.
