uuum cool gasmask, i hate this one

uuuh the written portion of the comic had nine chapters, not really ABOUT mona, but like, kinda about mona? it was really more about growing up with semi obscure media interests and trying to capture that particular experience of attempting to relate to others entirely through a shared love of shitty cartoons that only really aired in canada, and then watching those people die behind the barrier of a chat room.

it was a joy to write, and the only thing that really held me back from finishing it was that it ended up getting fucking unhinged by the end. like that was KIND of the goal, but not really to that degree. it just got too personal without even really being about me and it was bullshit to read. and the thing is that im just not sure how i feel about hijacking someone elses silly cartoon to talk about like, losing yourself in a character, or having the weight of indirectly taking another persons life hang over you. im also just worried that some people will misunderstand the work, and that thought just really bugs me.
