Eridians are further behind than humans technologically right? They dont have computers, relativity, quantum mechanics, etc. In fact, Eridians probably dont even know about the Big Bang because their atmosphere would filter out most of the cosmic microwave background radiation we use to detect it. On a human timeline, theyre anywhere between like early-mid 20th century. Rocky's basically a cosmonaut.

So the human civilization is pretty advanced from Rocky's perspective. Rationally he understands this. On a conceptual level he knows this to be true.

Like imagine being a modern day sailor navigating the Pacific with GPS and strong hulls to protect against the raging ocean. And from portside you see like an honest to god viking ship. Except its made of some high tech carbon fiber material. But like, its still very definitely a viking ship. You can clearly see there's 24 oars along the hull where sailors are supposed to use to manually row their ship. Also the ship is leaking and theres like one little dude on board whos skittering around patching the holes constantly. Also this little dude is blind and doesnt know about water. Thats how insane Eridians look being an interstellar species without computers or radiation shielding.

Rocky: Grace baby time, question? Grace "age regress", question?

Grace (lying): No!!

Rocky: Baby time not "dumb", statement. Baby Grace sleep better. Baby Grace heart go slower. Baby time good for Grace.

Grace: N-no *hic* it's dumb

Rocky: Baby time make Grace happy, question?

Grace: ...yeah.

Grace is baby, statement.

Rocky constantly talking about Adrian and then asking Grace if he has a mate or if he wants one- if he won't get lonely on Erid, and Grace explains that most humans would want a mate, that most humans would maybe get lonely, but that he's been without a mate for most of his life and it.. never really bothered him.

Rocky asking him if he's ♪♫♩♬ and Grace has no word for this- Rocky explaining that it's Eridians who do not want a mate. Eridians who just simply seek out different kinds of relationships, but not mates.

I honestly like how many agree that even though Grace can't get tattoos carved into his body or certain jems/stones imbedded into his body, Rocky and Adrian find other ways to go about it.

They give Grace jewelry with pieces of symbolic significance like as a way to decorate his glasses, or as earrings, or as a necklace or bracelets. Grace is different, but he is also seen as an Eridian all the same, and they want him to be part of them too in his own way even if it can't be traditional.

Like I imagine Rocky gives him bracelets and just goes "Grace say Grace no have family, Grace Rocky now family, Grace wear family crest on arms"

And Grace is like- "Oh-! You.. I.. Oh Rock you really don't have to I- I mean that's tied to you and your family specifically, your history and bloodline and-"

"Grace say Grace Rocky not family? Not part of history? Family?" Rocky says, seeming disappointed

"No! No no no we are family-! We are, lemme just- uh-" haphazardly puts on the bracelets "See? Family! Do I just- do I put them together when saying my name too or is it well- more of a symbolic thing?" Grace says

Rocky would be giggling "Good good, happy happy happy. Now Grace obligated to go to awkward family gatherings with Rocky." Rocky says before walking off
