happy (late) valentine’s day! i wanted to do a little writing for mike for valentine’s day! enjoy!(i wanted to post this yesterday but it wasn’t finished)
you exclaim as you hall the fabric away from the sewing machine. you took a look at it, holding it up high. you turned it around and checked the back.
it took a week to finish but all was well! valentine’s day was tomorrow—and so is your anniversary—so you wanted to do something special for your beloved.
you made him a zip up hoodie. but not just any zip up hoodie! it’s based on his favourite character from a tv show he watches. it’ll match the mask he wears as well!
it’s a burgundy colour, much like his mask. on the right sleeve, there’s two gray stripes. and on the back there’s a sewn on picture of foxy! you made it all by yourself. good thing you took home ecc!
you got up and stood over by the mirror, trying the hoodie on. it was quite big on you, but it hugged you anyway.
you rushed over to your bed, pulling your telephone onto your lap. you dialled michaels number, legs bouncing with excitement. it rang a couple times before answering.
“hello?” it wasn’t mike, however, it sounded like a little boy.
you grin, “evan! how are you doing, buddy?” you ask, tilting your head.
“i’m good. how are you?” he asked, politely. “i’m doing well! is your brother there? i have a question to ask him.” you spoke, the smile never leaving your face. evan let out a yes before calling out to michael.
“yes, babe?” michael spoke. he loved to call you babe, the word never leaves his mouth when talking to you.
“mikey… do you know what tomorrow is??” you ask, twirling the cord of the phone around your finger. michael hummed on the other side of the line, “well… it’s saturday.” he answered. “yes, silly! but what’s the date?”
“i’m joking, y/n! it’s valentine’s day. and our 1 year anniversary.”
you gasp, “you remembered?” you felt yourself smile. you heard michael laugh on the other end. “of course! what kind of a boyfriend would i be if i couldn’t remember such dates?”
you rolled over onto your back, giggling to your boyfriend. you brought up the idea of going out for dinner and seeing a movie afterwards as a way of celebrating. michael loved the idea, so much so you could practically hear him smiling as he talked.
the two of you talked for an hour or so about plans for the big day. “maybe i should feed you?” you suggested, making michaels face heat up.
“maybe we could celebrate in another way~?” michael proposed, pervertedly. you lit up with embarrassment, eyes wide, throwing your head into your pillow. you heard mike laugh from the phone.
before you knew it, you both had to leave before you ran up your moms phone bill, but you were excited for tomorrow!
you rushed out of your seat when you heard a honk at the door. “i’ll get it!” you yelled, rushing to the door.
you opened the door and saw michael waiting right in front of it. the absence of his foxy mask made you smile. “hey, mikey! let me go grab my sweater.” you greeted, tugging him inside as you rushed upstairs to grab a sweater for you, and the one you made for him. michael greeted your parent, who was uninterested. “bye mom!!” you yelled, pulling your boyfriend out the door.
you finally got a chance to take his outfit in, he was dressed in a white button up with a black waist coat and a tie tucked into it. you wanted to complement him on his attire but you couldn’t find a proper word to describe how good he looked. michael tugged on his sleeves, fixing any wrinkles that were previously there. he turned to look at you, his face heating up. you looked so beautiful under the moonlight. he was thankful for the dark. you were wearing an outfit that complemented you so well. a f/c (outfit of your choosing) that hugged your figure. he grew jealous of how tight it was on you. your hair was done up the same way you did it at prom, making him smile goofily. you both slowly leaned into each other, your hands finding their way to his neck, his sliding to your waist. “you look so beautiful.” michael said, starstruck. his usual mean and teasing personality has left out the window. just before your lips could touch you pulled away, “well, let’s get going, pretty boy. we’ve got a dinner, after all.” you said, stepping closer to his car—which is actually his fathers.
michael snapped out of his trance and opened the car door for you, bowing. “after you.” he said.
you smiled, ruffling his hair, “thank you, kind sir.”
the drive wasn’t long, maybe five minutes. but the entire time michael had a hand on your thigh, that would occasionally leave to change the gear in his car. his touch was warm, and so was your smile. you looked in the rear view mirror and saw a blazer that matched mikes waist coat. you smiled, his mom must’ve bought a suit for this..
looking back at your boyfriend you watched as lights bounced off his face. you noticed he was growing a slight moustache, making you blow air out of your nose as a laugh. michael raised an eyebrow, glancing at you. “what’s the matter?” he asked. you smirked, “you’re growing a moustache.” you pointed out, making michael bring a hand up to his face to feel his moustache. “so i do.”
letting out another giggle, you looked ahead and was greeted with the illuminated lights of a bougie-looking restaurant. you covered your lips with a hand in surprise. “mike i..” you started. “my mum picked it out. she made reservations for us.” michael stated. you felt a tear fall. “mike when i said we should go out for dinner i didn’t mean to a fancy ass restaurant! where are we gonna get the money to pay?” you asked, slightly worried that this night would end badly due to lack of money.
“don’t worry about it, doll face. my old mans got it covered.” michael winked, pulling out a wad of bills. you laugh, flicking your wrist. michael pulled the blazer from the backseat to around him, ignoring the buttons.
the two of you entered the restaurant, hand in hand, with smiles stained onto your faces.
“hello, love birds. do you have a reservation?” the lady at the counter spoke, playing with her pen. “it should be under afton.” michael spoke as you adjusted your grip on him to holding onto his arm. the lady looked through the papers as you and michael held each other. “hm.. i don’t see it…” she started, the colour leaving both of your faces. “wh-what?”
“oop! never mind! i’m just blind! yep, there it is.” she laughed, “you two are seated over in that booth, have fun!”
you both sighed with relief. you thanked her and waltzed over to your seats. michael took off the blazer once again and put it beside him, you doing the same with your sweater. you fixed your outfit before checking the menu. you checked the prices and winced, mr. aftons wallet is going to be crying after this.
“can i get you started with drinks?” a waiter asked. you looked up from the menu with a smile, “i’ll have a coke.” you said. michael hummed. “hm.. i’ll have one, too.”
the waiter nodded, rushing off. you felt a hand touch yours, glancing back to your boyfriend. “y/n, you look so beautiful tonight. i mean- you look beautiful every night.. but that outfit.. it’s doing something to me, y/n.” michael confessed. you blush, “i could say the same about you, mike. that waist coat looks really hot. but i bet it would look way hotter on my floor~” your statement made mike glow red. “i-..”
you giggle, innocently. at this time, the waiter came back with your drinks. “enjoy. have you decided on your meal?” they asked, pulling out a note pad. “i’ll have —meal of choice—, mike?” you turned to your boyfriend, who’s face was redder than his foxy mask. he cleared his throat, “um.. i’ll have the paella..?” he almost sounded unsure. the waiter wrote that down before rushing off. “i’m surprised you didn’t order anything with avocado.” you spoke up. “yeah.. i panicked..” mike stated. you smiled, “oh mikey.”
once your food arrived you two chowed down.
you two chatted about the past year and what was next to come. would you marry him? his michael the one? you laughed into your fork. “y/n, if you don’t mind me asking, what made you fall in love with me? i’m not even that special..” your heart pained at this. you hated when your partner talked bad about himself like this. “mike. of course your special! what makes you think that way? out of all the people i’ve previously dated, none of them have ever made me feel this way about someone.”
“but it’s just my looks, right?”
michael… “of course it’s not just your looks! sure, your terribly handsome, but that’s not all! you’re so talented! you make me feel so safe and secure. i’m so glad i get to spend valentine’s day with you, love.”
michael smiled at this, “y/n.. can i kiss you?”
“of course, michael. you don’t even need to ask.”
michael stood up, taking a seat next to you. since the booth you were in was large, there was enough room for him to sit beside you. and you two were out of view from everyone. your lips met michaels. one hand holding your cheek, the other on your thigh. your arms made their way back around his neck, pulling him in farther. your body’s moved in sync. heat rushed to your face when mikes hand on your thigh made its way up. as much as you wanted him to continue, you were in public.
“mike.. we can’t.” you started, breaking the kiss. michael sighed, nodding. he smiled at you and sat back in his chair. you looked back at his lips and noticed they were stained with your lipstick. you giggled. little did you know, michael was laughing at your smudged lipstick.
as you two were finishing your food, you thought of the movie you were seeing. your friend told you to not see the zombie movie that was playing, she said it ruined her date. you weren’t planning on seeing it anyway. when your food was gone, michael called over a waiter for the bill. you saw the price and snickered, you almost felt bad for mr. afton. not.
the pair of you returned to the car and talked about the movie. you talked about it on the way there. drive-in movies were your favourite. michael thought they were dumb, but it gave him an excuse to run his dads car down.
(excuse my writing i have no clue how drive in movies work..)
once the car was parked, michael tuned the frequency of the cars radio to the movies, fixing the position of his chair to man-spread. he reached back and pulled a bag to the front. mike put the bag in front of you, “take whatever you want. just not the fritos.” you laugh, grabbing a bag of doritos and a mountain dew. you thanked him as he grabbed his chips, the bag still in your lap. “shit.. could you grab me one of those? there should be another.” mike said, talking about the soft drink you had on your hand. you tossed him the one in your hand, “you can have this one.” you said. reason being, you spotted a red one in the bottom of the bag. you grabbed it and put it in the cup holder to the side of you, mike doing the same.
you didn’t have much of a choice on the movie you wanted to watch. they were playing the same romance movie, considering it was valentine’s day.
the squeaking of mikes chip bag made you realize the movie was starting. i’ll spare you the embarrassment, because the movie was so cringe. when the two main characters finally kissed, you decided this would be a good time to pull out your surprise. you pulled out the box with his hoodie but when you turned to face him, you saw him with a small box.
you both had surprised looks written on your faces. you kept eye contact for a minute before speaking. “mike.. what’s that?”
“i could ask you the same thing. here, open it.” michael passed you the box. you laid your box on your lap to hold his. you opened it and was met with a shiny ring. it was a gold colour with your favourite crystal in the middle, small diamonds surrounding it. “oh mike. you didn’t have to.”
“y/n. i’ll be honest with you, i’m clueless when it comes to fancy gifts. my mum and i went out to a shop to buy this. when i saw this one i immediately thought of your smiling face so i had to get it. i wanted to make a promise to you. a promise that one day when we’re both out of school, i’ll become your husband. i’ll get a job so we can own a house, one big enough for my siblings to move into, and maybe even some kids. you mean so much to me and i’m so proud to be able to call you my partner and i—“ you cut michael off with a kiss, that all familiar moustache tickling you.
“oh michael…” you paused, whipping your tears. “how did i get so lucky?” your hands were shaking as you tried to put the ring on. “give it here.” mike offered. you passed it back to him, giggling as tears fell. michael slid the ring on with ease. you admired the ring as it shined in the nights light. “thank you so much, mikey. my gift is so lame compared to this.” you admitted, passing him the box. “i’m sure it’s amazing.”
michael opened it with a smile on his face. when he pulled the hoodie out it only grew wider. “is this a foxy hoodie?!” he asked, putting it on. you nodded, “i spent a week on it.”
“YOU MADE THIS?!! YOOO!! that’s so cool!! thank you so much!”
michaels sudden spark of joy made you smile, “i’m glad you like it.”
“like it?! i’m obsessed!! i’m wearing this everyday!”
“i can be like! LOOK AT WHAT MY PARTNER MADE ME! YEAH ITS FROM A GOD DAMN FURRY SHOW! ITS ABOUT DUMB ANIMALS!!”
“but that’s for nerds. FUCK YEAH IT IS!”
laughter filled the car. all in all it was a great night and you’re so happy you got to spend it with your lovely boyfriend.
ahhh!! sorry it’s late! i wanted it to be perfect! i hope you enjoyed! happy late valentine’s day :)
