But the important distinction is that vil is a feminist in a “gender? I don’t know her” type way.

While leona is a feminist in the “every woman in my life could kill me and get away with it” type way.

Like, can you honestly tell me that none of the other schools put on a performance that was both relatable and didn’t look like it was thrown together in 30 minutes?

The fact that the only thing jamil wanted in book 4 was to have the last 2 years of nrc free from Kalim, after which he would serve him with no protests, and he did this just by wanting him expelled speaks volumes about how much he genuinely cares for kalim.

Cause make no mistake, jamil’s a slave, and kalim is, if not a slave owner, somebody who benefites from that system and his family owning slaves. Jamil might not be in physical shackles, but he’s expected to give up his entire life to kalim, to serve him without question and die for him if necessary, and jamil does not want that. He is being forced to take on that roll against his will and we know he’s almost lost his life to it at least once.

In other words, Jamil very much had the motivation to really hurt, if not kill, kalim. And he had the means. He could have slipped something in his food, stabbed him in the back, used his mind controll powers to force kalim to actually hurt himself, or make kalim give jamil money or hand over the company. Point is, jamil was in the perfect position to really, genuinly hurt kalim. And imo, i would not have blamed him if he had, bc kalim’s kindness aside, he still owned jamil. He is still the reason that jamil is getting hurt/almost killed. I know he is using ignorance as a way to protect himself and that his family never really encouraged him to think about it, but also, kalim is 17. That’s old enough to start taking personal accountability. At some point you can’t keep solely attributing someone’s ignorance to how they were raised. And even then, ignorance to harm caused does not excuse the harm.

I’m getting off track, but the point is: jamil has both the means and the methods to really screw over, if not kill Kalim.

The fact that all he wanted was 2 years of freedom and that he sinply tried to get Kalim expelled, when kalim shouldn’t have even been at nrc in the first place, says a lot about how much jamil does actually care a out kalim.

Ao3 is not a marketing place!

You cannot do any type of thing that relates to business on ao3 because then we start infringing on the copyright laws in ways that ao3 cannot defend!

And like, maybe they’re being genuine, right? But this is such cold marketing language that i have to go with the idea that they’re trying to sell me their services, so i block them, but i don’t want to block sm1 who is genuinely just enjoying my fic.

Like vil and his: clothes and movement aren’t gendered

the few women we do see have character and are diverse.

It has a male dominated cast because it’s an all boys school, but besides that, i don’t really feel like the disproportionate having more men than women really extends beyond the school? Like, once we leave the school, women are just are present as men? Idk how to describe it…

There have been multiple occasions where characters (specifically housewardens) clock trey as… a manipulative/schemey kind of person?

Like, in book 7, leona and idia talk about how Trey and cater managed to survive both riddle AND the previous housearden (what was apparently really bad in the opposite direction as riddle.)

And in the Nightmare event, when Trey tries to midigate between leona and malleus, they’re like: hey, pick a side dude, because being wishy washy is getting on our nerves. Like, we know what you’re trying to do.

And we haven’t really been given any indication (or at least Trey hasn’t admitted) whether or not it’s true yet, BUT-!

Remember the famouse tart scene from book 1?

How is it that trey, who has not only managed to dodge being collared by riddle for over a year, but is also the BAKER of the house and thus should know the rules in regards to his goods, especially since it doesn’t seem like he has made this mistake anytime previously, manage to make the one (1) pie that is against the rules?

It’s not as if it was the easiest pie to do (clearly, considering the effort we put in) so why chestnut?

Idk, that pie being an accident is just not really believable, imo.

I think he was testing the waters to see how far gone riddle was. I mean, by using that methos, he could gage the situation without stepping in harms way, and it would stand to reason that he might have used this method with the previous houswarden as well to stay out of the chaos but still understand it.

And it lines up with what the house wardens are clocking about Trey being… manipulative sounds so cruel, an oppurtunist, maybe?

And remember, trey got into NRC for a reason, not rsa, and he’s not case like kalim, where he could have bought entrance.

Like, i get that the entire reason nrc looses year after year is bc their teamwork sucks, but i can’t imagine that with the powerhouses that are malleus and leona at least, even if they were to argue/fight, they’d still be crushing rsa. Like, the sheet mayical reserves on malleus alone should have one shotted rsa like he does with the interdorm, and yet????
