its been a year since I raced my derby friends and since then I've gotten better skates, softer wheels, and a heck ton more practice in my quads

deadass one of my worst start offs but a refinished floor means more grip so I can be evEN MORE SPEEDY

that was such a bleh start off yikes

I feel like I should start (seriously) looking into speed skate teams because I do want to get better but also yikes

being a good skater and having crippling anxiety don't go together very well

never miss an opportunity to show your pride (or to justify a rainbow cape)

this is a few weeks old but I’m finally making noticeable progress on my speed skates

first race with speed skates went pretty good, especially now that I've gotten my start offs (mostly) figured out

two brilliant ideas I had • try (and fail) on OGs • put speed skate boots on normal frames

“ashton what are you doing?” “skating on my toes”

“so you're leaving a skate rink to go to another skate rink?” nothing is better than a day full of just skating

tfw I notice I’ve trimmed lap times by a few seconds which doesn’t sound like a lot but it means anywhere from 9 to 11 second laps. Bless! (also ignore that shit powerslide)
