my chinese teacher once shared this story in class about someone who went to the grocery to buy chicken, but they forgot the english word for it, so they grabbed an egg, went to the nearest sales lady and said “where’s the mother”

my favorite is when my brother and I went to the chinese market we forgot the cantonese word for ground beef so my brother literally said “can I get 3 pounds of floor beef” in cantonese

so today i was at the beach and my friend was taking photos for her photography class of this walkway but this old man walked down it so we were waiting for him to walk by so that no one would be in the pic and then we sat down and got on our phones for no more than 24 seconds and then he looked at us and was like “wow everyones on their cell phones nowadays. technology is taking over” and i was just like “well its hard to say that it’s completely a bad thing, because i know for sure that i wouldn’t have the career path that i have today 20 years ago”. i mean its true i dont know what i would do without social media like i love public relations and im so thankful im alive during this time
