The CAE VimedixVR ultrasound simulator leaps to life with the addition of the Microsoft HoloLens module. Now, healthcare learners can display, enlarge, turn, and rotate realistic-looking anatomical parts, or command them to return into the manikin body in an augmented reality medical education training environment.

Estacio de Sa University is an official Olympic supporter that was selected to train physicians, nurses, dentists, physiotherapists and medical students to treat both Olympic participants and audience members should a medical crisis arise.

During the live simulation scenarios with METIman, volunteers practiced coordinated responses to medical trauma, cardiac arrest, myocardial infarction, acute coronary syndrome, respiratory failure, orthopedic lesions and others using international treatment protocols, according to Silvio Pessanha Neto, coordinator of the School of Medicine. The training was administered in the School of Medicine by medical and nurse educators.

The American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) and CAE Healthcare are collaborating on an interactive screen-based simulation training product

The ASA screen-based “serious games” style simulation product will include five medical scenarios with realistic medical diagnostic and monitoring equipment, medical instruments and virtual patients with varied symptoms and conditions receiving various medications, who will respond to actions the learners take.
