                      “nothing around here!” 

     there’s a short pause before the mage turns his head ever so slightly, his gaze lands upon the dismembered limb resting now upon his shoulder, heavy and cold. instead of jumping back and screaming like any normal person would do, henry raises his hand and wraps his fingers around those of the rotting appendage. 

“                  oh, marvelous!”  he’s practically beaming as he gleefully shakes it, “i’ve been looking for one of these….nea, you know me too well!”

                 ❝ I collect crow feathers. Maybe if I gather enough, I can fly. Fingers crossed! ❞

          “Everything needs a name.” He seems to find this an important rule, having even referred to the tree in his yard by her name; Cornelia. Perhaps as someone who’s so often referred to as a number, he can sympathize with the poor bird.

          “Pick one out.”

          everything? henry never thought about it that way. he stares at the feathered corpse in nea’s grasp for several long moments before tilting his head. 

           Brilliant amber hues blink curiously at the offer, attention turning to the small corpse. He’s always held a fondness for birds, consideration in his movements as he picks up the cold little thing in his one pale hand. There’s not much he could do with it, but… He has always wondered whether or not bird bones were truly hollow. An experiment for later, perhaps.

          “What was it’s name?”

                              “...it was nameless.”

          his gaze follows the other’s hand as he raises the lifeless body up, he never had a name for the crow, just knew it was one of the elder ones who had been with henry since before the valmese war.
