British runner Ben Smith has just completed 401 marathons in 401 days

“I’m actually aching today, my legs have been alright for the last 101 days and typical, last day, legs ache, back aches, but I’ve got one day left,” he said.

“I’m doing this to raise £250,000 for two anti-bullying charities.

"I was bullied for eight years of my life at school. It affected my confidence and self-esteem and that led to me trying to take my own life when I was 18.”

After coming out as gay, the runner wanted to raise awareness of the damage caused by bullying and to support his chosen charities, Kidscape and Stonewall.

He said: “A key objective of The 401 Challenge has been to involve as many people as possible and create opportunities for children, young people and adults to discuss the difficult topics of bullying and sexuality.”

the US minimum wage that we all agree is too low to live on ($15,080/yr) is far more than many legally disabled people receive in benefits

the maximum SSI for a single person is $8,796/yr if a disabled person marries another, each drops to a max of $6,600/yr

Plus, “marriage equality” is still a huge problem for disabled people (as you can see), which is something almost everyone is ignorant to/doesn’t care about.

i dont see you in the communities, not even a flyer at my door. 

i dont hear nor see you about in any protests in any activism, nothing.

i dont see you on social media. 

what are you doing? why arent you promoting it? where are your campaigns from grassroots levels of school boards and judges going up?  whats your results of your campaigning?

what are your growth strategy?  are you hitting your goals? Why the fuck I gotta go to hell and whoah to get to your offices? 

are you at festivals places of worship parent teacher meeting anyfucking where people hang the fuck out? whats your reach from 2000 vs today? 

this is one of my issues with the green party and the world workers party 

i believe in third party alternatives

but damn do they both suck at reaching out and expanding their people power base to people outside the ‘select’ bubble 

and then when this is brought up the automatic push back becomes “why don’t you get involved?”

but really the first question should really be “how can these parties come to my door instead of me hauling ass to find them?”

In the age of social media, where campaigns have generated their own shine and attracted the attention of mainstream media, it requires virtually little effort to expand a voter/constituent base in order to continue engaging them for local elections & soliciting donations.

Instead the Green Party, for example, has primarily focused on getting Jill stein on the ballot, which they do every election cycle and fail to accomplish. They probably could make leaps and bounds if they were better at building a broad base. Getting Jill on the ballot as a serious contender is only a fraction of the battle if meanwhile you don’t build people power around local elections at the same time. People not only want to know how your party plans to transform the presidency but state and local legislatures as well.
