i bought a korean keyboard:) i had to change all the key commands thru karabiner, but i finally got all the keys to work correctly and its so cute ahhh

(Side note: I’ve had about 4 different people ask me where I bought a book filled with Korean notes only to realize that they were just my handwritten notes, lol)

10 big academic reminders
1. there is no shame in asking for help (academic, emotional, or mental)
2. there is no shame in going to tutoring
3. there is no shame in getting Bs, Cs, Ds, or Fs
4. there is no shame in not knowing what you want to study
5. there is no shame in having a job
6. there is no shame in struggling in a so-called “easy course”
7. there is no shame in withdrawing from a course you don’t feel comfortable in
8. there is no shame in changing your major
9. there is no shame in not taking a full load of classes in a semester
10. there is no shame in realizing your school may not be for you
my tips on learning 한글/hangeul (korean alphabet) efficiently!!
i made this for a friend but i figured this could help other beginner Korean learners so yea i decide to post it here.
here ya go :)
1. listen/watch videos ((especially kid songs & shows bc they CLEARLY & eXXAGGERATEDLY say the alphabet so it really helps!!!!))

2. learn the correct stoke order of each vowel & consonant. it just makes your life easier.
im so bad at writing korean nsjajwjeis i wish i had learned the correct stroke orders in the beginning—
3. know the different ways the letter can be written! look up korean handwriting so you understand online korean vs korean printing & like hand written stuff. otherwise you won’t be able to read lol
4. dont use romanization. to me it just makes things more difficult ??? DONT COMPARE A NEW LANGUAGE TO YOUR NATIVE LANGUAGE !!!! its not the same!!! K does not equal ㅋ !!!! literally our mouths do different things so dont trust romanized korean plsss just look at a letter & understand how the mouth moves when that word is said. rely on visual aids to help u understand words.
+ for example: 고양이 = cat, but 고양이 =🐱 is better to learn from. the goal is to not translate words from korean to english,, you gotta like know the word when you see it & dont translate it into english inside your head,, just think about what that word looks like ? if that makes sense
5. know the pronunciation rules. this isnt as important but you definitely want to make sure you understand this before moving onto any further lessons bc you wont be able to read or say the words correctly if you dont know the rules !!!
+there are videos about it on youtube, but its also in koreanfromzero lesson 1.
6. overall in any language learning experience just think like a baby. dont compare korean to english think of it as two separate things. you have a korean brain & a english brain now.

final note,,,,, honestly if you want to learn the alphabet quickly I recommend reading at least lesson 1 from course 1 @ koreanfromzero.com like it covers everything you need to know at first.
