Hilariously after waiting 25 minutes for the bus it broke down!!! Thankfully very close to where I get off anyway so it could've been worse but still!!! I ended up getting to work over an hour after I left my house when it should take 30ish mins!

I don't know what's happened with my bus recently but the times have changed a bit and now there seems to be a black hole between 8.30-8.50 where no buses turn up, which is usually the time I need to get the bus.
What's even more annoying is that I often just miss the 8.20, as in I can see it but I can't get there fast enough. Then I sit and wait for 20+ minutes for a bus when they're meant to come every 10 or so.
I feel the need to tell you all that Stanley calls bumble bees "bum bum bees" and that is what they shall be known as henceforth
It's 4.20am and James just found me sobbing in Stanley's room because I've been up with him for 2.5 hours and every time I think I've got him back to sleep he wakes up. He's taken him downstairs but I can hear him sobbing.
My alarm goes off in 1.5 hours and I'm just laying here wondering if there's any point in attempting to go back to sleep. How am I meant to get up, get everyone ready for school/nursery and then go do my job??
Crying at the email I just got supposedly from Vinted with the title "Account were banned." I just keep saying it in a husky Northern accent. I wish the whole email had been written like "ya'right love, account were banned. Don't worry pet, click t' link and we'll fix it for ya. Tara love, Vinted"

Ella and I took the boys to toddler laser tag today and I'm not sure who had more fun, us or them. It was fab. There was a dad there who took it very seriously, and even though they had to leave halfway through the second game because his little boy got upset he still won lmao.
They recently reinstated the infant feeding survey in England and Wales which is great because the previous data we had was like 20ish years old I believe. They've just released the data and it's very exciting because breastfeeding rates have improved! Previous data showed that around 1% of babies were exclusively breastfed at 6 months. The new data shows 26% are now exclusively breastfed at 6 months. Amazing! And 58% are having some breast milk (so having formula or solid food as well) at 6 months, compared to 34% previously. Amazing!
Sadly it reported that around 70% of mothers who stopped breastfeeding before 6 months did so before they wanted to. It just highlights how important skilled, evidence based support is. There's still so much misinformation out there, and so many people don't realise that free skilled support is out there. But it's definitely a step in the right direction and overall really positive news!
I couldn't stop thinking about lime cake so I made a mini one. Sadly the white chocolate ganache went a bit weird and thick so doesn't look great. I also need to practice piping shells but!!! Mini lime cake!!! My baby!!!

Stanley was very freaked out about going to bed. He just kept pointing at the duvet and saying "bi" which is his word for spider. I lifted the duvet up to show him there weren't any spiders (for a split second I was so afraid there would be another one and that he would be terrified of his bed for life) and reminded him that the spider was gone but he was clearly freaked. Poor bub.

Is anyone else finding loads of spiders in their house? Idk if the hot weather has confused them and made them think it's spider season or something. Last night I went to the loo and when I moved the foot stool one ran at my feet at speed ๐ญ then this morning Stanley and I were playing in his bed and he suddenly freaked out, sure enough there was a spider under the duvet ๐ญ
I had a dream last night that I was pregnant but there was something weird going on with my belly where the skin was like two flaps that folded over each other and the baby kept managing to poke through them and be like "hello!" hahaha. I was getting so stressed trying to keep them in and then at one point the whole baby came out and I saw they were a girl.
It's weirded me out a bit because I had a very similar dream while I was pregnant with Winnie (where I birthed her out of frustration bc people kept asking me if she was a boy or a girl, saw she was a girl and put her back in) and of course she turned out to be a girl and looked just like the baby in my dream. But I was much more pregnant then and currently my period isn't due for like a week so idk if it means anything. Would be very weird if it ends up being some kind of premonition but I don't want to get my hopes up. We shall see.
I cut my hair off! And I'm blonde! I love it.

Sorry to bombard you with photos of the lime cake but here is the inside. Omg it was actually so good. Super moist, the curd was great. The white chocolate ganache went really well with it. Everyone loved it, I want to make it again! My brother was surprised and asked if I had really made it hahaha. I was like nah I just went out and bought a lime cake from the supermarket, you know how you see them everywhere lmao.
We had a great time at my brother's. They'd managed to set up the garden with plenty of shade and the kids had a paddling pool to keep them cool too. It made a very hot day slightly easier. I said to James we really need a parasol or something because we have no shade in our garden and it makes hot days so hard!

Better photos of the lime cake in daylight. I piped on some white chocolate ganache to hide where I started to run out of buttercream and added a lime (thank you Ella for the idea - I love it, much funnier than slices) can't wait to see my brother's reaction!
Stanley's speech has suddenly improved massively, which I guess explains the bad sleep last week. It feels quite strange to hear him talk so much and makes you realise he understands way more than we thought.
He's so sweet though, Winnie was crying the other day and he went up to her all concerned and said "wha happen?" but the way he said happen was ridiculously cute. The emphasis was on the ha and it was really high pitched like HA-pen. Toddlers learning to talk is my fav.
