Hello there! This is the first part of my new series.
Warnings: bad parenting (Imma put it as a warning bc yes) and blackmailing (sort of)
Elijah Mikaelson x f!reader
This wasnāt supposed to happen. I was supposed to be on my merry way to my parentās, not in front of this spoiled jerk.
āBe here at 10 oā clock, Y/N. Itās Bandera, not New York City. Me and your father will not tolerate any disrespect. Understood?ā
āYes, motherā I say, while trying to balance a cake, my purse and a plant (yes. A fucking plant) on my arms.
āGoodā. Before I can respond, my mother hangs up.
āWell that went wellā I say to myself, while eyeing for the last time my figure in the mirror.
Respectful yet flattering outfit? check
I close my apartment door without dropping anything, thank God, I say to myself, while I go down the stairs.
After some minutes Iām in front of Ashleyās, the best coffee shop in NY.
Iāll just handle this sunday like any other: Iāll smile, shut up and glance at the clock every minute.
So, Iām just missing- sboom!
Shit. The plant, the cake, the coffee. My dress! Oh my God, my dress!
I glance up at the dude I smashed into and heās glaring.
"Oh my God! Iām so sorry!ā I say, while I gather my things. Heās about to say something, probably an insult, but I anticipate him:ā Listen, I really donāt have time for whatever youāre about to say. So, just I donāt know. Disappear? Or something like thatā He scoffs.
During our staring contest, my phone rings. My mum. Fuck. I pick up, hesitantly:ā Youāre lateā
āYeah, I uhm had an accidentā I say, glancing up at the handsome (and jerk-alike) guy in front of me, who raises an eyebrow.
āOh my God! You canāt even handle one simple task Y/N! Thatās it! Come back tomorrow, I hope for you that youāll show up with an apology for making me waste my time!ā She yells on the phone.
And the dude hears. Of course he does.
āI- of course, mother. Iāll be back tomorrowā I reassure her, and she hangs up.

āThat was intenseā He says
āMind your own business, Mr. Nice suitā I say, taking a little part of my pent up frustration on him.
āWell, since you decided to get in my way, it is, indeed, my businessā I scoff. The audacity.
āListen here, dude-ā āElijahā āWhat?ā āItās my nameā āOk, whatever. Like I was saying, Elijah, shut up. I donāt have the emotional strength to get into an argument. So fuck offā I shove my way past him, but he grabs my arm, blocking me.
āYes. Actually. Believe me, when I say Iāve got the strings to pull to make your life a living hell financially. So I suggest we find a way to end this that doesnāt involve you payingā My heart skips a beat, but not with the usual butterflies. No, this is fear.
Oh God. I canāt afford it. Shit.
