Born on May 27th, 1911, we send our warmest regards to the inimitable Vincent Price, the patron saint of the merry macabre! Price was the aristocratic star of many all-time Cl-ASS-sicks, including “House of Wax,” “The Fly,” “House on Haunted Hill,” the Corman/Poe cycle, and our personal GRAVE-orite, “The Abominable Dr. Phibes.” Despite the horrid nature of his roles, Price always eXXXuded a strange sort of affability. The Merchant of Menace always conveyed a sly sense of humor without belittling the material, a quality which elevated even the goofiest “B” movie. Always and forever, Price is ho-rror’s most beloved fiend. 

He’s like fire and ice and rage. He’s like the night and the storm and the heart of the sun. He’s ancient and forever. He burns at the centre of time, and he can see the turn of the universe.
