the idea that restrooms, locker rooms, etc need to be single-sex spaces in order for women to be safe is patriarchy's way of signalling to men & boys that society doesn't expect them to behave themselves around women. it is directly antifeminist. it would be antifeminist even if trans people did not exist. a feminist society would demand that women should be safe in all spaces even when there are men there.

i think a big reason why its easy to have the mages be the pathetic one, besides the obvious "physically weaker = easier to overpower", is that mechanics that disable magic/spellcraft are things that don't come with prexisting clear solutions a disarmed warrior can just pick up their weapon, draw another, or maybe hold weapon tightly but if a mage is disarmed nyour purely in fantasy what they can do abt that a tied up dexterity/precision archetype character can presumably untie themselves, or pick a lock, or strength archetype just break it, but if theirs some magic thing that prevents magic applied to someone its weirder if they just Magic it to stop being un-maged also magic preventative measures r something just normal restrains or gagging and sometimes that AND the magic thingy so theirs added factor?
