Edogawa Ranpo

It was the third time he messed up. Third time. This never happens to him. Deduction is a piece of cake for someone like Edogawa Ranpo. There has to be something wrong. Something he didn’t take into account. Something--

“Ranpo-san?” 

And suddenly it all makes perfect sense. As much as these things can. Ranpo almost trips over his feet. “This is an unexpected turn of events.” 

You are certain that this wasn’t directed at you. Ranpo often mumbled under his breath when solving cases. But he seemed to be off his game today. He suggested three possible perpetrators and every one of them already had an alibi. Maybe he was sick? You were running around in the midday sun for a few hours now. 

“Is everything alright? Maybe we should take a bit of a break?” You suggest and Ranpo finally turns to you and stops pacing. 

“It’s alright. I am just learning a bit more about myself today.” He says and his glasses glint in the sunlight. “Say [Name] what do you do when you can’t focus?” 

Slightly taken aback you keep silent for a few hearbeats. “Ah, I take a few breaths with my eyes closed, I suppose.” You say, showing him. “Why? Is something making it hard to focus for you?” 

“Interesting. Your presence has quite a strange effect on my ability to focus. Guess we will have to team up together more so I can develop some immunity, huh.” He smiles at you, pushing his hat further on his head. “Sounds good?” 

You nodded automatically, confused by his words. When it finally clicked in your mind, your face flushes red. “Oh!”

Osamu Dazai

► When Dazai struggles he never tells people around him. He has persona to uphold. Instead he visits graveyard and sits by Odasaku’s tombstone. Sometimes he just sits there in silence. Sometimes he talks. He admits so much more of his problems to a person that can’t make him feel better instead of talking with someone who could pat his shoulder. 

Atsushi Nakajima

► Sweetheart Atsushi let’s a lot of things get under his skin. It doesn’t look like it in the moment, but later on he agonizes over every bad comment. If he ever fails at anything, he won’t forgive himself and strongly believes no one else will ever forgive him as well. He builds pressure on top of pressure and breaks himself over time.

► There are times when he thinks about different paths he could’ve taken. If he didn’t have his ability, if he wasn’t what he was. It keeps him up at night and eats away at him. He is proud of his power on the outside, but sometimes he can’t help these wishful ‘what ifs’. What if he was just ... normal.

► Dazai’s face is lit up by the definition of a shit-eating grin. At first he tries to be calm and collected, but soon his inner child is awaken and he just can’t help but annoy you until you wake up - kissing you all over your face or any exposed skin he can touch, tickling you softly and if everything fails he just lies on top of you. 

► Can’t get enough of you whinning and laughs at how ‘cute’ it is. Will tease you relentlessly about how you “can’t get enough of him even in your dreams” and how he loves when you get touchy-feely. Won’t let you live it down, but honestly is the happiest about it and looks forward to waking up to you snuggling to him more often.

► This could go down two ways: either he is going to be just watching you sleep with a dumb smile on his face or he is going to be channelling his inner Dazai and tease you a bit. 

► But sometimes there is a third option, he is just too tired to play games and too tired to stay awake to just watch and instead opts to hug you closer, kiss your forehead and fall asleep again with his heart being all warm and fuzzy.

► Definitely the ‘staring lovingly’ squad. Honestly he is too scared to touch you in anyway and wake you up. He himself struggles with intimacy and snuggling is almost never initiated by him, but he is a sucker for it. So this is a win-win because you can’t tease him about it and he still gets himself snuggles free of judgement. 

Hello, so it’s been a while since I actually wrote here consistently. Let’s say that life has been crazy, I had a lot of big steps ahead and zero time for anything else. Now we have a global pandemic going on and it’s not helping. 

I am still trying to work out a routine, thanks to uni being hectic I can’t honestly say I’ll be posting frequently, but I want to write more when I can and mostly headcanons, because scenarios or drabbles are something that takes a lot more time and preparation, which I can’t spare. 

I’ll change up the blog visual and hopefully queue a few answers already if anyone is still in the mood for that.

He is kind of dense when it comes to romantic things. But he is a quick learner, it takes him just a few weeks to know what you like and don’t like. He never let’s you know that though. He just throws those sweet nothings over his shoulder. He leaves gifts around the place for you to just stumble upon and then tries to play it off as if he didn’t have anything to do with it. And those gifts aren’t random either. That cute hat you’ve been eyeing for a week? In your closet now. That great cake you absolutely love which is sold on the other end of town? In your fridge.

⭐ - Sad headcanon

I feel like Dazai jokes about his suicide but never commits it, because he knows people would be hurt. Maybe when he was younger he would do it, if things went differently maybe he actually would. But after he lost someone dear to him he understands that -- even if he tries to distance himself -- he is a friend and maybe more to others and it would hurt them. So he talks about the perfect suicide, because it’s almost unachievable goal and people don’t need to worry (too much).

Chuuya Nakahara: As if being saved wasn’t already bad enough, he had to be saved by the Agency. Curse his luck. He stumbled into a trap, because he was not paying enough attention. He drops his guard once and this is what happens.

“Are you alright?” The voice doesn’t ring any bells, that’s strange. Chuuya snaps out of his stupor - which was half caused by the trap that consisted of sleeping gas and half by his daydreaming. 

He nodded, avoiding any kind of eyecontant. 

“Dazai-san sure was right about you.” Continues the voice and this time he has to look up. Just hearing that name rubs him the wrong way. “You really aren’t honest about your feelings.” 

“What-”

“You can just say thank you, it won’t make you any less strong, y’know.” The woman says while turning around and then adding over her shoulder: “You shouldn’t make any sudden movements, you’re probably still lightheaded. Wait a few minutes before going anywhere.”

He watches her leave and can’t seem to get her words out of his head. After battling with himself he let’s out a sigh and before she gets out of the earshot he calls after her before swiftly turning around himself, so she can’t see his flushed cheeks.
