I had to learn that accepting that you're mortal / a human being means accepting that you're going to need to rely on a whole lot of shit to get you through the day. Like yeah I don't wanna play Overwatch or any live-service games on principle, but sometimes I need to hit that one friend group up that plays those games and just shoot the shit with them. Sometimes I don't wanna use some social websites, or go shop at some stores that I don't want to shop at on principle, but I'm also not fucking superman. It's not always going to be easy picking the right choices, and I can't just borrow an inordinate amount of willpower from fucking nothing. That stuff is all chemicals. Organic compounds. Energy. Nutrients. That snickers you ate for breakfast is still inside your body. Your cells and organs and brain used it to supply their functions. And they're using whatever else they can to supplant the food and water you DIDN'T eat. There's a cost for everything, and choosing your battles is a crucially important skill. Especially now.
