Do you have any idea how many times I’ve used saucenao to find the artist of a piece going around tumblr and gone on their pixiv only to find they’ve made their work private? Do you know how often I check if the people I follow on pixiv have posted anything new, or go to look at my bookmarks only to find them deleted or made private? Do you understand that tumblr and shitty places like pinterest and weheartit, which are full of reposted/stolen art, are largely to blame for this?

But no, you don’t care, you just want notes for work that isn’t yours, even though asking for permission would be simple, considering how many templates there are available for doing just that. How can you post art that you like, yet disrespect the person who made it? And you who reblog the posts, stop assuming that everything is by the original poster. It takes a minute to check their blog and see if they’re just thieves or if it’s actually their work. Hell, in the One Piece fandom we have tags like opfanart and opgraphics to make it absolutely clear when art is by the poster. We even have opsourced for art that is properly sourced and posted with permisson from other sites! It’s not that difficult!!

It doesn’t matter how much you like a piece. If you, or the person who posted it, did not receive permission from the artist, and has not credited them, don’t put it on your blog.
