“O.M.A. is Rem Koolhaas, dutch, Elia Zenghelis and Zoe Zenghelis, Greek, Madelon Vriesendorp, Dutch and Zaha Hadid, Iraqi.  O.M.A. stands for Office of Metropolitan Architecture. The group consists of three architects and two painters. They all life and work in London their work, which transcends the mere level of architectural thinking into allegorical narrative and iconographic myth, is among the most influential and controversial today and is very much discussed amongst the architectural avant gardes in Europe and America.  O.M.A., active since the early seventies, was officially founded on January 7, 1975 to “develop a mutant form of urbanism - new types of architectural scenarios which would result in the rehabilitation of the metropolitan lifestyle - which accepts the megalopolitan condition with enthusiasm and which will restore mythical, symbolic, literary oneiric, critical and popular functions to the architecture of large urban centres.”...”
