they probably were like "he is a fuckboy" first and then "he dates both men and women" later. it's a very common theme in thai bl novels that the fuckboy doesn't care about genders, he can be with anyone. idk because i feel like we don't have a lot of out right bi characters in thai bl so even when i see him, i didn't think about the prejudices of bi people at all, im just happy that he is bi and everyone knows it 😅 but i agree, now that i think about what u said, it could be harmful and distasteful (? is that the right word) stereotypes.
