I identified as nonbinary for a few years as a late teen/young adult and dysphoria was eating me up. What helped me most was shedding the religious idea of a soul. You're not a mind or soul inhabiting a body... You are your body. Your body is you. You're not a little alien inside your brain spaceship, calling the shots from within a vessel.

Your vessel is you. Your fingers are you, your legs, your ears, your organs, all of your body is you. The disconnect from physical reality is instrumental in the setting in of dysphoria, the disassociation from human existence through interpreting your body as separate from you is the foundation on which dysphoria is built.

Also... Would you hate other women for the same so called "sins" or "mistakes" or "flaws"? Would you extend the same lack of empathy to someone else? Would you judge someone else for eating when hungry? Would you think another woman less womanly because of external factors? If not, why would you be an exception?

Patriarchal ideals use this separation of women from humanity to distance us from each other and ourselfs. Womanhood is not a performance, no more than being a giraffe is a performance.
