Genuine question, if you think trans men aren't allowed to reclaim the world tranny for themselves because you believe they're only ever called it when mistaken for trans women... Doesn't that make them tma.
No seriously, if trans men are having this horrible slur thrown at them on such a regular basis that they've felt they could reclaim it for as long as trans women have, are they not affected by trans misogyny?
To me this kind of contradiction is the inevitable result of treating oppression in such a binary way. I feel like most of us understand that discrimination generally is a lot broader and more complicated than you'd think. Straight people can experience homophobia for acting "gay", people who aren't women experience misogyny for acting "girly", and so on and so forth.
But when it comes to this concept of "tme and tma" the discourse paints it as a much more strict "you are either transfemme and are tma or not and are tme" which just makes the open admission that No in fact it is much more complicated than that but only because it's convenient to us in this moment, is very illustrative of the fact that this really isn't a coherent belief system.
(btw I'm a trans woman and if anyone calls me a birthday boy or tme they are stupid and kinda proving my point)
