This is disgustingly long, I’m so sorry, I yap.
*(Please skip to the end at least, if you can’t be bothered with all that)*
Don’t know how much longer you’re interested in answering Vampires questions, so I’m putting it all here.
Main thing: How much of what we heard of V!Pyro’s backstory is accurate? I know they initially “lied” about not killing Czeslaw, but was the rest of it true?
Was Pyro actually an outcast in the city? Did their parents genuinely not care about them? (Based on another ask I saw answered, I’m inclined to believe yes). Did the “other lads” actually treat them poorly/never stand up for him?
Similarly, did they really have no proper support network in their life? No close friends or family? No one from the city that actively tried to help them? Did everyone see the tormenting and turn a blind eye? Pyro was just… alone and powerless?
Or did V!Pyro just not notice people supporting him? Or didn’t think they were doing enough/were able to do enough to help him?
The second thing is: When Pyro talks about going back to the Capital and getting back at those that wronged him, is he talking about killing or turning them? If it’s turning, why?
If he thinks they wronged him, why would he share what he considers a gift (or has convinced himself is one)? Is it actually a subconscious belief that having vampirism forced on them (like he did) is a punishment? Something to cause suffering?
I feel like these are the super important questions for any character analysis.
I wanted to also say that I really love Jack Von Pyroscythe! He is a super special character to me, especially if his backstory is true. I think he’s written in a very humanizing way (ironically). Suffering through trauma and isolation, without any clear paths out.
Resorting to violence when they finally just can’t stand the pressure anymore, giving up their personal autonomy when things get harsh, and then lashing out again when they once again find themself trapped in an unjust system.
He’s just so Ashdifitjtnnfnfm- Honestly, I think he deserved to crash out harder <3
Anyways… VAMPRIS VAMPRIS VAMPRIS— just kidding!
THE FINAL THING: I found your content through Vampires (and have since watched all of your videos, more than once), and man I love it! It’s a good example of probably the main challenge with entertainment jobs, that it’s so dependent on luck and exposure. The fact that you aren’t more popular, more well known, is a travesty. From the pacing of your videos, to your humor, to the storytelling you put into your work; it’s all just delightful!
I’ve been binging your Vods too, but I can rarely actually catch a Livestream ;-; Unfortunately you’re usually live at about 5am where I live. Which is either too late to stay up, or very early to wake up. Though I think I’m gonna try to readjust my schedule to catch at least a few streams a month.
Uhhh, long, over complicated ask done. Have a very good day/night, thank you so much for everything you do, can’t wait to watch your next MCC!!!!
Hi there! Thanks for giving so much of a fuck about vapris and my stupid chud scholar.
to answer a couple of your questions, i'd say his backstory is correct. his needs were neglected, and those who were directly meant to support him (parents/family) put him under immense pressure to succeed while distancing him whenever he didnt. the system for his parents worked in a way wherever he succeeded, he was rewarded with love, and whenever he failed to meet their standards, he was distanced. while they may have expected him to therefore strive for excellence, he actually wallowed in the intense isolation that he faced.
one interesting thing you've brought up which i've been ruminating on a lot is the fact that he DID have people trying to support him! ren, martyn, sausage (despite his behaviour) all tried to help! even drift tried to help, but through a combination of fear of scott, and a desire to be in control of his own life, refused to take any help
small note, my imagination for what going back to the capital would look like would be as follows:
1. selectively target and kill those who wronged him in a brutal, perhaps even sadistic way, ensuring to end their lives with a hint of how they wronged him (perhaps mutilating ears, as he believed he was never listened to, eyes for how they weren't seen)
2. as his list dwindles, he expands his horizons, and is perhaps caught in the act. as the city begins to hunt him down, he is forced to then kill humans on sight, unless he is stopped by some external body such as another vampire or specialised vampire hunters.
3. if he succeeds, he depopulates the entire city, either through directly killing the population or through forcing people to evacuate, as they have no other choice
i am so tired writing this so please enjoy deciphering!
