JRWI x Steven Universe AU Returns!
Heeeeereee's Aurora!
I know, I know, I'm late, and I never actually finished the original lineup for this AU, but in my defense the autism can only be spread so thin. Regardless, I'm back. If not just to have an excuse to finish a piece. Artblock is a bitch, especially when you have it more than you don't.
Aurora Opal - chosen both for the rainbow potentiality but also because I wanted her to actually have "Aurora" as her name. My understanding is that this is a synthetic type of gem, much like other crazy Opals you see (i.e. Dragon's Breath Opals), but I'll leave that to the rock experts to determine. I wanted both her Druid nature and the astrolabe to be important to her, so I've decided in this universe, single-gem Opals are navigators. Or at least, some are. They're a very visually diverse group of stones, so maybe there's a bit of variation. The druid part comes in with the greenhouse! It's like every Sci-Fi glass ship full of plants you've ever seen. It could also have worked as a lush colony or smth but idk I like the greenhouse.
I want to go back and redo some of the old designs. But as always, art takes time. Hope y'all liked this. Back to my hole I go.
