I cant stop thinking about this tweet and the fact that women aren’t meant to be this expressive, we’re supposed to keep our expressions demure as otherwise we become hysterical, and not only that, we can’t show this much expression in case it marrs our beauty and ages our face, because how can we be desirable if we are marked with lines that tell the stories of the lives we have lived and the things we have felt. In an age of readily available botox and ppl like Kim Kardashian promoting the idea of training your face to be inexpressive so you don’t get wrinkles, one of the best things a woman can be is expressive. Is to scream and smile till your cheeks ache, wrinkle your nose, frown, pull faces of delight, joy, disgust, anger, everything! Do not hide your emotions for fear of being seen as too much and certainly don’t hide them for fear of the lines they’ll one day make. Love your laughter lines and every mark upon your face.
Do not hide how you feel. Do not save your face for later. Embrace it and own it, now.
