Guys, I'm back with some new carpal tunnel syndrome lore :') I wish I had better news, but life ain't fair.
Recently I went back to the doctor because of ongoing problems with carpal tunnel syndrome in both hands. Well, it had improved a little, but it's still there and it's still screwing me over - some days less, some days more. I have been prescribed a new splint and hopefully it should do the deal and get better. Otherwise it's increasingly likely that I'll have to consider surgery at some point in the future. :')
This means that for the coming month(s) I probably won't be able to draw at all or only to a very limited extent. Just a little heads up in case I disappear from the scene for a while.
well, well... the beginning of a new year marks the annual remake of the reference sheets for my beloved OCs. Starting with Maximilian!
He got a little remake outfit-wise and finally dresses more fancy (this is totaly Burkhards doing, lol).
And well, I tried a new approach on lineart and I'm quite taken with it. Even if it takes ages... but that's somewhat also the fault of my wrist braces. :'D
Due to the ongoing problems with my wrists and hands - since a couple of months I'm drawing solely with wrist braces and had to figure out a new flow for drawing ...but I've finally figured out a way to draw that works for my current situation.
And my New Year's resolution is to continue working on my projects and, depending on how the year goes, to have a comic up and running by the end of 2024. To draw more of my aviator boys in the setting of the roaring twenties. Oh, and more Leyendecker studies with my OCs.

I'm alive and after a holiday-break back to drawing. New year, New reference sheet - so, here's a W.I.P. I tried experimenting a bit with my style and approach on the lineart.
I swear Maximilian knows how to smile... he just doesn't do it (often).

To let this year end with something big, I pushed myself out of my beloved comfort zone and am really happy with the results. In hindsight, 2023 was really my year of leveling up my art skills.
