Sylvia here I am 💫
My return to my project of reading Sylvia Plath’s entire body of work —which I spent last year and the beginning of this one slowly collecting— the project I call Sylvia Plath 24/7, is finally gaining momentum again.
Now is the moment to continue, and I will do so by beginning with her complete journals.
And it happens precisely on a day like today, December 6, in this tropical winter of the banana republic where I live, right in the midst of trying to imprint on this blog an aesthetic as intense and as faithful to myself as possible.
I love that, while I move through this process, I’m also wandering through my tumblresque blog as Tropical Broli and reading the personal diaries of thousands of users around the world.
I think about it all the time: Sylvia would have had an extraordinarily intense Tumblr. And I truly wish to reach, even slightly, that torrential intensity, that double-edged sensitivity of Sylvia, and weave it into my own aesthetic, experience and life.
So let this blog, hopefully, be a witness to that.✨️🖤🥀📚
