this is v important. after that initial honeymoon phase of my relationship passed i thought my spouse was losing interest in me for the longest time and i had the most difficult time interpreting his feelings for me. weād get into fights where iād accuse him of not loving me anymore, heād be hurt and confused as to how i could even think that. it took me having to consciously consider that maybe he expresses love differently than I do, and after some observation i realized, heās a provider (that test would probably categorize him as Acts of Service). he does so much of the chores and cooking because he knows my mental health is not the best and i canāt handle a lot of home upkeep on top of dealing with my depression and anxiety. he also takes my tastes and interests into consideration when planning a day trip. basically everything this dude does is either for me (or he takes me into consideration), and for the prosperity of our life together.
unsurprisingly when i took that test iāmĀ āphysical touchā. guess what heās not particularly into? physical touch. he hates massages and caresses. most light touches tickle him or make him itchy. words of affirmation is (again unsurprisingly) my secondary. growing up my family and i were very verbal about our appreciation, our praise, our support, and we saidĀ āi love youā 100 times a day to each other. his family isnāt like that at all. the way they express love to one another is based more on action than words for sure.Ā
