is female separatism only not dating men or not interacting and supporting them at all? I don’t date or befriend males (this was already before I discovered radical feminism, and yes I am osa) but I don’t boycott books, music, movies made by men. can I consider myself a seperatist or nah?
it's almost impossible to avoid interacting with men, i would say never harm your chances for success by refusing all interaction with them, i've tried this and it will very much limit the ways you get help in uni or workplaces. i personally think separatism means not giving access of your personal life to males and keeping them at a distance whenever you can. separatism too has many layers but the not dating men and not making friends with them part is non negotiable so if you do that you should definitely consider yourself a separatist. when i was first introduced to 6b4t and separatism for some years i avoided all media by men, nowadays i do consume it in a limited manner but i keep in mind that their worldview is always going to be clouded by misogyny and i don't have to take anything i consume at face value. also while watching or reading anything the creator's identity most certainly reflects in their ideals so it's important to keep in mind who the creator is.
