Cg! Shadow Milk & Puppy! Pure Vanilla Headcanons ☼
- [ ] Pure Vanilla is a puppy regressor! If you thought he was affectionate before, he is even more clingy while a puppy. He is a very physically affectionate pup, his mind going fuzzy which makes it hard for him to think or maintain his usual royal dignity and etiquette, his eyes going wider and more innocent.
- [ ] He also has trouble speaking full sentences when pet regressed, so he will usually use body language to state what he wants. Things like tugging on Shadow Milk’s sleeve or clinging onto the other’s arm.
- [ ] Shadow Milk always plays it off, purposely dramatizing: “Oh? What does my little puppy want now, hmmm? So very clingy.” But it never holds any real bite, and Shadow Milk knows him very well, which means he can read whatever cues his Silly Vanilly gives him while in that state. He knows a tug on his sleeve means he wants something, and when stared down with those wide puppy-dog eyes, that he wants to be held or pet.
- [ ] Shadow Milk may call Pure Vanilla clingy, but he is just as bad, though he will never admit it. Most of the time it is Shadow Milk who scoops up his pup from whatever he had been doing and takes him away for some cuddles. Pure Vanilla lets him, too. Doesn’t complain too much so long as whatever item he had been holding comes with him (like his stuffy for example).
- [ ] Since Pure Vanilla is a pup regressor, he has the habit of biting or chewing. Never at another, he would feel too bad, even in his regressed state. But he does more often than not, end up chewing on his sleeve or at his own hands unconsciously.
- [ ] Shadow Milk got him teethers and chewies to help, and often redirects him lightheartedly. “Ah, ah, my little pup. You’ll get your robes all icky, and we can’t have the star of the show looking anything but his best, hmmm? Try this, it’ll be much better on those little puppy canines of yours.” and the teether is promptly placed instead.
- [ ] Shadow Milk loves spoiling Pure Vanilla, too. He will often sew clothes for the other to wear while in his puppy state. More comfortable ones than those stuffy robes of his, but still stylish enough so that his puppy still looks his best. He oftentimes loves matching with him, too. It gives him a soft sort of satisfaction having them wear the same colors. He is careful, though, to not make anything too resembling of Truthless Recluse, since he knows it brings his Nilla bad memories.
- [ ] He also loves brushing his pup’s hair, but unfortunately, his Nilla hates sitting still for too long during it (unless he is sleepy). So, he often has to coax the other with the promise of a treat if he is good, or by letting Pure Vanilla chew on a teether while he works.
- [ ] Pure Vanilla sometimes has trouble eating big foods while regressed, or sometimes forgets to eat entirely. So, Shadow Milk will give him ‘treats’ in smaller portions which eventually help his Nilly eat properly. It helps immensely to not overwhelm his puppy, either.
- [ ] He even made his pup custom collars and the like, each decorated with the cutest ribbons and silk and little bells that make a pleasant little jingling sound. Sometimes Pure Vanilla is too embarrassed to wear them at all, but if he is deep in his puppy space, he will wear them no problem.
- [ ] Shadow Milk is extra protective of his puppy. It is more so that Pure Vanilla and Shadow Milk are protective of each other. But, Shadow Milk especially. He will not let anyone make his Nilla feel bad about his regression. He wants to let him be comfortable, and the fact that Pure Vanilla trusts him enough to care for him while in such a vulnerable state (even after all they have been through) brings a warm and soft feeling to his chest. He sometimes feels all mushy if he thinks about it too hard.
- [ ] He will sometimes even coax Pure Vanilla into slipping further, to get him comfortable amidst his initial embarrassment about the whole thing. Things like helping him with tasks, petting his head and playful praise ‘Good job, pup!’ immediately get Pure Vanilla into the fuzzy state of mind.
- [ ] He loves making Pure Vanilla laugh, acting extra silly just to see a smile on his puppy’s face. Twisting his body like a puppet and making extra goofy expressions. He finds the way Pure Vanilla’s pup ears perk up and his tail starts wagging a mile a minute, to be one of the most adorable sights, even if he will sometimes tease Pure Vanilla for it.
- [ ] If he is feeling extra playful, Shadow Milk will sometimes shapeshift into a pup form or wolf form just to play with Pure Vanilla. Things like chase or tug of war.
- [ ] Pure Vanilla doesn’t really have a puppy crate, but his sleeping quarters are turned into a more nest-like environment so that he may sleep more comfortably. Soft blankets and stuffies surrounding him while he sleeps or naps. He loves the soft textures, since his eyesight is terrible, his puppy brain focuses more on other senses, like touch or smell.
- [ ] Shadow Milk will often keep watch over him, let Pure Vanilla nuzzle into him or pet his Nilla’s hair to lull him to sleep, being extra careful to not harm his puppy with any of his claws. Perhaps he may kiss his forehead if he is feeling extra sentimental (even if he will deny ever doing that).
- [ ] Pure Vanilla’s regression is healing for the both of them. For Pure Vanilla, he gets a break from having the world rely on him, and gets to be in a state where he does not have to think. Rather, he is the one being taken care of for once, instead of being the pillar for everyone else. For Shadow Milk, it feels nice for someone to trust him so openly, knowing full well the person that he is. It heals a little part of his loneliness, and brings a soft affectionate feeling to his chest to care for someone, even if he would never be caught admitting something so… weak and mushy.
((This takes place in a rare instance of redemption for Shadow Milk, where they actually end up friends. I imagine Pure Vanilla would be a golden retriever or a shepherd dog, but I didn’t add it into the actual headcanons because I wanted to leave that part up to interpretation.
Also, I hope you know that the moment I saw this request I had to do it IMMEDIATELY. My regression is based on Little! Pure Vanilla Cookie and any content of regression for him is like a gold mine for my little brain. I also used to be a puppy regressor so this request was super close to my heart. I hope that I didn’t make them too OOC and that they are enjoyable to read,, thank you for requesting!!))
