Nine new dancers

"Special talent?" he repeated. He could write, yes, but that did not appear to be what the man was looking for. He spun on his heel a bit, trying to think. Fast, he thought. He was pretty fast.  He could run faster than any of the children that he had gone to school with. He spun a few more times, a bit amused with the action.

He chuckled and just watched him. "So you like spinning, ever consider ballet?"

“How many do ye ‘av, Father?” Doll wondered, her eye wide with curiosity.

"I'm glad you asked my dear, currently I have 30 different kinds of flowers, all blooming beautifully from beautiful dark and thorny roses to sweet and simple daisies." He smiled, the corners of is eye crinkling with delight.

"Daisy?" Thomas asked. "Well, I mean, I suppose I am alright at dancing," he said. He tried out a few steps, unsure of what kind of dance he wanted. All of this was very strange. He wasn’t very sure he enjoyed being called ‘dull’.

"that's not bad at all, but it's not the dance you're good at is it? I'm being circuitous. I mean, what is your special talent, your forte. What do you do that no other does?"

"Ah! My little girl! Come sit on Papa's lap," He patted his stubby knee. "Has my little girl been working hard for big brother?"

Thomas blinked. “What? What are you talking about?” he asked, a bit concerned by the statement. “Dancing?”

"A simple daisy like you can dance can you not?" He asked simply. "Show me how you do it. You're not a proper gentleman, but you're ot a poor boy, so why do you look so dull and tarnished little daisy?"

"Your sister's a harlot but that's hardly news." He scoffed. "The most interesting new roses and dancers have come through of late. They're making for a most beautiful and entertaining garden. Do you think he'll like them?" He asked then suddenly changed subjects. "Why don't we talk about something else. I know my garden bores you. Your little brothers and sister are such hard workers, you should see it, they're good little bees."

Two Roses have bloomed in the garden

"Beautiful roses of pain? That’s a new one that I have actually come to know. But who in the bloody ‘ell are you?"

"I am Baron Kelvin, lord of this manner, you little hussy." He retorted. "Your thorns are not numerous but surely are they sharp, but you dress not like a lady at all. I wonder, are you a member of the poorer middle class? You'd look well up on the tightrope."
