this is from an Ed/Jim fic (maybe one-sided, haven't decided yet) based on the trope where two characters have to hide in a narrow space together and one/ both of them get hot and bothered about it. in this case it was Ed but Jim was unaware :3c
(they were driving in Jim's car after escaping but then Jim stops)
Ed looked around, confused. For a brief moment, he looked at Jim. “Why have we stopped?”
“We're going to talk about what happened.”
It confused him endlessly when Ed looked at him with something akin to panic in his expression. “There's- there's nothing to talk about. I'm sorry, I didn't mean-”
“You don't need to apologise.”
Ed looked at him now. He swallowed hard, his hands rubbed over the fabric of his pants over his thighs. He licked his lips and adjusted his glasses. “Is this not about the, um… unfortunate physical reaction I had?”
Jim blinked in confusion.
“And entirely unwanted too, I can assure you, I didn't- I can't- I- I couldn't-”
“Ed.” He laid his hand on one of Ed's to stop his increasingly frantic fidgeting.
Ed jumped and yelped. He looked at Jim again with that wide-eyed, scared expression.
“What are you talking about? It's normal to get scared in situations like that."
I was stuck with how to continue this for a whole while but today I started writing down a few ideas and with one I started having fun!!!
it's veering heavily into aromantic Ed territory which is something I've been thinking about!! something I've been wanting to write!!! so I'm very stoked about that
it's Ed/Jim in the sense that they fuck but they wont get into a relationship. maybe a continued friends with benefits or something but I might also leave that open-ended
and I'm surprised by how writing the sex scene went tbh. it kinda went different than usual and I noticed there's some new ideas I've had for specific actions/movements/etc. definitely a positive

like i know there are a lot of fics out there where other vulcans are all “oh man, jim kirk’s so freakin HOT how’d spock get in his pants” but IF ANYTHING it’s actually the reverse. spock shows up on vulcan one day with Jim on his arm and all the other vulcans are OUTRAGED. Sarek receives like a thousand bonding proposals a year from VSA graduates who all have google alerts set to notify them when spock gets a new xeniobiology article published. and then they find out. that the object of their (totally logical) affections. had the equivalent of a las vegas wedding with the human captain of his starfleet ship while in the middle of a five year mission. vulcans may be too logical to riot but on that day, a good many vulcans had to meditate for an extra hour or two just to contain their rage
