im just so happy that the writers wrote langdon as a sarcastic funny dude who never makes fun of mel. she misses social cues and he never makes her feel awkward about it, he leans into it and makes her comfortable in the conversation. my roman kingdon or whatever.

#this is the primary non-music reason I love Liam  #not that he’s some wonderful altruistic socially informed progressive dogooder  #because he’s not  #but because he’s unrelentingly earnest  #and shockingly introspective  #so he’s constantly reflecting and also constantly sharing those reflections  #both so he can share what he’s learned and ask for others to teach him  #though he has every reason to be#there is not a single cynical bone in his body  #and that really lets him believe that things can be gotten through work  #which means he never defaults to ‘i can’t change it so why bother’ mentality  #that plagues so many extremely intelligent people (and also idiots like myself)  #SO HE ALWAYS TRIES  #tries to put on a good show  #tries to learn more words  #tries to become a better musician  #tries to acheive his greatest aspirations  #tries to be a better person  #and it’s lovely and refreshing  #and i hope that never gets lost #truly
