Closing his office door Dale headed down the corridor before knocking and heading into Candaces office. “Clear up, time to go.” He grinned. Dale had arranged with James to let them both off half a day but Candace wasnt aware of it. Dale had been planning a very big surprise for Candace.
Candace gave Dale an odd look when he headed into her office. “Time to go where?” she asked with a raised eyebrow before looking back at the report she was working on.
“Home to pack, we are going somewhere.” Dale continued to grin as he watched her. Really they could have had the day off given it was what lunch but this was a little bit more fun to spring on her
Candace was very intrigued by that comment, especially as it was accompanied by a grin. She closed the folder in front of her. “Is that so?”
“Yep.” He respond moving to sit on the end of her desk.
“What sort of packing?” Candace asked curiously.
“Packing for a weekend away in New York.” Dale told her
Candace grinned at that as she turned her computer off and moved to give him a kiss. “Just for fun?”
Dale wrapped his arms around her kissing her back. “Yes. A well deserved romantic weekend away. No work.”
Candace laughed at that. “So no bringing paperwork with me then?” She teased.
“No, yes you did hear me say that and yes the struggle will be real.” Dale sighed
Candace gave him another quick kiss. “I’m excited. Let’s go home and pack.”
Dale chuckled into the kiss. “Lets go home and pack.”
“I’m assuming you told my dad,” Candace said as she took his hand in hers and led him to the door.
“Yes. I arranged time off for us weeks ago.” Dale told her intertwining there fingers.
“How very responsible of you,” Candace smiled as she squeezed his hand.
“We do have to put leave in early.” Dale pointed out
“I’m sure dad would have made a last minute exception,” Candace chuckled.
“I like to be organised and punctual.” Dale said with pride
“Which I love,” Candace replied as they walked.
Dale just beamed at her.
“But you’re also a dork,” Candace reminded him.
“I cant help it if I like nerdy things.” Dale replied shrugging
“I wouldn’t want you to change,” Candace pointed out.
“Still confused as to why you picked me to date given how much of a dork i am.” Dale frowned.
“And we’ve been dating for how long now?” Candace gave him a look. “No point thinking about those sorts of things.”
“Yeah alright.” Dale replied moving to kiss her head as they walked through the carpark to there car,
Candace smiled at the kiss to her head. Once they got to the car, she got into the passenger side. She was excited to see what Dale had planned.
Dale got in before putting his seatbelt on and starting the car. “So how are things going at work? Aspen back yet?”
“He is, as serious about work as always,” Candace rolled her eyes.
“Isnt that what you wanted in a partner?” Dale asked her as he drove out of the carpark
“It is,” Candace agreed. “I thought he was boring, but getting suspended for being in a relationship with a student makes him less boring.”
Dale laughed at that. “How is he handling that whole thing?”
“When I ask he refuses to answer, so great I think,” Candace laughed.
“Bet Sharon isnt happy.” Dale responded
Candace shook her head, “She’s not.”
“It happens. At least the girl in question is of age.” Dale replied
“Well he didn’t break up with her over it, so it must be serious,” Candace shrugged.
“He must really like her then.” Dale laughed.
“Seems that way,” Candace chuckled.
“Do you talk about all that stuff?” Dale enquired
“Sometimes, I’m trying to get him to stop being so grumpy half the time,” Candace said.
“Why is he grumpy?” Dale asked turning onto the main road.
“That’s part of his charming personality,” Candace replied.
“So a bit like your Dad and Nathaniel then.” Dale laughed
