While it took quite a bit to get Amber drunk, she thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Sure, she was probably going to say something or do something stupid, but the best part was that she would probably forget so she didn’t have to live with the embarrassment. It also probably wasn’t wise that Dallas was at this party, but the best part about being drunk was that she didn’t have to worry about saying something stupid because she had already done that sober which had made things awkward between them. That fact didn’t stop Amber from strolling up to Dallas once she had spotted him, drink in hand, and a grin on her face. “Hi,” she said to him, clearly not sober. “Are you avoiding me? I haven’t seen you around.”
Dallas turned away from Hayes to look over at Amber. He could smell the alcohol from where he was standing. “I’ve been with my sick Mum.” Dallas replied as if that was obvious
“I meant at this party,” Amber frowned before taking a long sip through the straw of her very pink drink.
Dallas sighed “I have been doing the rounds, you have been with Brinx and her new boyfriend anyway..”
“They’re boring,” Amber rolled her eyes. “I’m way more fun.”
It didnt take a genius to noticed that Amber was drunk. “How so?”
“Well…” Amber trailed off with a frown as she tried to think of an example. It was too much effort to think.
Dallas just watched her with an eyebrow raise. “Well…..”
“They’re boring because they spend all of their time making out,” Amber huffed.
“I gather that but why are you suppose to be so much fun?” Dallas asked her as he looked over at Brinx who was wrapped up in Aspen’s arms. They didnt look like they were coming up for air anytime soon.
“Because I just am,” Amber told him, looking grumpily at him. “Stop arguing with me.”
Dallas gave her a strange look. “I am not arguing with you I simply asked a question.” He pointed out
“I’m fine and you should just accept it,” Amber told him before taking another sip of her drink.
Dallas just shook his head. There was no point in arguing with her when she was drunk.
“I miss you,” Amber then sighed dramatically.
“I havent gone anywhere.” Dallas told her.
“In the general sense,” Amber told him with a pout.
“That makes sense since nothing has changed.” Dallas frowned
“Am I not allowed to miss you?” Amber said to him before noticing he wasn’t holding a drink. “You need a drink. Be more fun.”
“I have had a drink.” Dallas told her before leaning against the wall. He really wasnt in the head space to get drunk tonight nor did he want to.
Amber watched him with a frown. “Smile a bit more then.”
Dallas through her a smile.
“Perfect,” Amber then smiled back at him.
“If you say so.” Dallas replied watching her now with amusement.
“If you stop smiling I’ll be annoyed,” Amber told him seriously.
“My cheeks might start to hurt.” Dallas told her.
Amber patted his cheek with her free hand. “That’s okay.”
Dallas just raised an eyebrow at her. “How many of those have you had?” He asked pointing to her drink
Amber tilted her head slightly. “Enough.”
Dallas could tell she had and wondered how much she was going to drink before she passed out. He just nodded at her
“I just want to forget about stuff,” Amber told him.
“Like?” Dallas asked her
“Like wanting to kiss you,” Amber mumbled.
Dallas was a little surprised by that comment and suddenly felt a little uncomfortable as he said nothing to her
“Hence why I’m drinking,” Amber sighed at his reaction.
Dallas rubbed the back of his neck at how uncomfortable his conversation had now gotten
“I wouldn’t want to kiss me,” Amber muttered to herself.
“That doesnt even make any sense.” Dallas replied
“You don’t want to kiss me and I get why,” Amber tried to explain.
Dallas wanted to know why she thought that. “Hmm.”
Amber didn’t really want to elaborate. She was torn between ranting to Dallas and being quiet, but since she was drunk the quiet side of her prevailed.
Dallas was surprised by her sudden quietness.
“You don’t want to kiss me because you could never like me,” Amber then told him. “Which is fine. It just sucks.”
“Amber, I dont want to kiss you because I am in a relationship.” He pointed out to her.
Amber frowned at him. “So you’d kiss me if you weren’t?” she then asked, the whole idea confusing her.
“I cant answer that because I am in a relationship” He responded
“Then you shouldn’t have said it,” Amber huffed.
Dallas really didnt want to have this conversation. It was inappropriate and he knew she was drunk and not reasonable. “I really dont know what you want me to say to you, Amber.”
“Well I want you to say that you’ve been in love with me for years but what I want isn’t practical,” Amber replied with a shrug.
Dallas pinched the bridge of his nose with his fingers and let out a sigh
Amber watched his response in silence.
Dallas was getting a little uncomfortable as he started to look around the room.
“I’m going to go and find more to drink,” Amber mumbled.
