“Realistically, we can point a finger and say oh I feel this way because of the way she dressed or the fact that she flaunts her self in a particular way. But that's not because of how they are it is because of how WE feel as an individual. You cannot feel something unless you decide to feel that way. Sexism is the result of the self. If a woman's aim is to be perceived as an object of sex, so be it. That is her choice. It is when we make the decision to perceive someone as a sexual object that we degrade our ability to understand them as a human being. If a person wants to be perceived a certain way, that is not our place to correct them and even more it is not our place to assume that is the way they want to be seen. I don't tell people to stop dressing gothic because it makes me think of them as satanic. That's just negligent of the self. Our perception is to be full and understanding, we should not narrow ourselves to labels; sexy, fat, skinny, athletic. Yes you can be described as these adjectives but that is one perception to another. What's fat to a person who weighs 300 lb. is different than what's fat to a person who weighs 150 lb. It is safe to say the same about how a woman represents herself. A woman who believes she is wearing clothes that are more comfortable may be perceived as a woman who is trying to exploit her body. That perception is selfish and it negates the ability to see anyone as who they truly are. More importantly, it detaches our ability to see our self when we focus so intently on another person's appearance. Get over yourself, we are not the grand observer who dictates what a person is or is not. “
