Some where soft spoken and kind, others strict and harsh. One note. I wonder, if my complexity, if the Ghost of Dr. Kims' friend is what kept me from deteriorating... Perhaps being at the heart of the facility meant something, who can say..."

404, how much do you know about the people that made you and why look the way you look?
They seem a small bit surprised by the question, before immediately becoming a small bit somber.
"I am aware of my creator. Dr. Vincent Kims. I am one of many facility management androids, the 404th one to be exact but..." They hum, looking away from the anon. "I was Dr. Kims' special project, something secret. When he was developing my AI, he was giving it data about his deceased friend, Briar, hoping that when I activated, I would be able to fill the gap. I was never correct enough to be deemed a success, but my AI remained the most stable out of my siblings... I miss him dearly, and thinking too hard about him causes an strange error to pop up... I don't know why."
For lack of a better term, where do you end and where does the bunker start, 404? Are "you" entirely within the guy shaped doll, or are you spread out over the surrounding infrastructure?
"I am the bunker, and the bunker is me. I originally had boundaries where my siblings managed the other functions of the facilities but..." They turn their attention to an error on a screen, immediately working to rectify it. "I am the only one left. If I were to be dormant, I'd still be aware of every part of the facility, but this body would be resting, charging or tucked away. I can pull my consciousness here as need be, however. Isolate it, and let everything run off my unused systems. I gain the info, but don't have to be fully aware."

Do you ever wonder what it would be like to go outside, 404?
"... I wonder sometimes." Their ear flicks as they bring a screen over to examine, a static-y camera feed showing up on it. It seems to be outside, a complete, overgrown wasteland.
"...The young girl's companion once helped me outside, but without my tethers, my systems quickly started shutting down. I have to remain here. That's alright, though, it's not like I could explore on my own anyways." His legs didn't work, after all.
What materials are you made of, 404? Are you all metal and hard plastic stuff or are you built out of synthetic flesh-type stuff.
"Quite the invasive question, is it not?" they let out a small sound that could be confused for an amused huff, before continuing. "I am covered in a soft synthetic material, but do have a hard plastic core, as well as sturdy steel armatures. I would not recommend hitting me if you can help it, you will break sooner than I would."

Both Briar and Baby have a soft spot for bad romance Novels, however Baby is more open about this soft spot, while Briar is more likely to keep it a secret.
"Sometimes I think about dying my hair, but it is always so much of a pain in the ass to avoid dying the wool on my ears that I think twice about it." He leans back in his chair with a sigh. He hasn't dyed his hair since he was a teenager, and for good reason.
"And I always debate on if I should dye my tail to match which is a whole other messy situation..."
Oh? Cybernetics? Do you have any Briar? How common are they?
"No, I don't have, nor want, any cybernetics. Some people like them, I am not one of those people. If people want or need them, that's fine, but I don't." The amount of times it's been offered as a 'solution' to their bad leg, something to 'fix' them, has completely soured them on the concept. Not to mention there are already enough intrusive ads in Eden, they don't need their actual eyes displaying ads.
"I'm actually pretty unusual for having zero cybernetics... Most people usually have something, albeit small." They hum. "... Just for clarification, because I'm SURE someone is going to take my words the wrong way, if people want to have cybernetics, or need them for issues, that is fine, I don't hate the concept of cybernetics all together. I just don't want any, personally."

"But I'd like to. Please, let me. It's what friends do~" he says grinning. "Please, besides if it helps, I'll let you pick one outfit you pay for, but you let me pay for the rest, okay?" He asks, taking their hands in his own, ands leans over some with the most earnest look into those pretty eyes of his.
"Please, Briar. I never get to spoil anyone!" He was always the one being spoiled.
They go to protest some more, but... Well, Briar is not immune to what is basically puppy dog eyes, shying away from his gaze when he takes their hands... They can't really think of the last time someone wanted to spoil them for literally no reason.
"... A-Are you sure it's fine?" They finally say after a while, glancing back "Getting things altered to work with my legs and tail sometimes makes things expensive..."

Briar, you're learning medicine right? Any unique challenges there? Do you have to learn different treatments for different kinds of people? Like. Is treating a satyr different from treating a human?
Oh-- They perk up a small bit, rolling the question over in their head.
"Well, people work different even between the same group, it's good to have diverse treatment methods. What works for someone, could make someone else incredibly sick after all." They rest their hand on their face in thought, one hip popped as they lean against their cane, shifting their weight back and forth.
"As for challenges... Oh, a lot of cybernetic tech can be... Very sensitive to work with to put it mildly. One of my professors emphasizes triple checking that a patient has listed ALL their cybernetic enhancements, because the systems are all so interconnected, if you accidentally mess one up, it can cause errors in ALL their systems..." Not to mention the danger of having electrical components near the nervous system...

"That's fine, I know I can be pretty intimidating as it is. So, Soma wasn't exactly clear when he said I had to meet you, although I am assuming you must needing something?"
That or Soma just wanted him to meet his friends, which wouldn't be the first time. Soma just liked to show off he did have friends, as if Julius did not believe him (which to be fair Soma's a bit of a habit of embellishing).
"I don't know about needing something" Briar can't help but smile a little, ear flicking. "I think It's a case of Soma just wanting me to meet you... At least I don't think I need anything. Do I need anything, Mija?" He looks down at Tobi, tone light and playful. The girl peers out from hiding against their shoulder, putting a hand to her mouth in thought... After a moment, she spells out the word 'Mango' In sign language, causing Briar to make a small snort of a laugh.
"That's true, I do always need more mangos." They shake their head, before continuing, attention back on Julius. "It is nice to meet you though, I've heard quite a bit about you from Soma, actually."
Soma nods, a small grin. "Tech wear works, I think, so we can definitely keep to that."

They had boarded the train, getting off at the station. When they exited the building he keeps a gentle hand resting on their lower back. Nothing more than a grounding reassurance.
"Come, one of my favorite stores is down this street. It's underground, but it has close to your style, though I do not wear it myself, they have some clothes in your style and cheap, too~ though I have the money so you can have it on me~"
Oh! While he was one hundred percent willing to go outside his comfort zone, they won't deny the fact they're a little relieved to still be in the ballpark of what they usually wear.

Train rides are always a gamble on if they'll cause them problems, but, thankfully, it goes pretty smooth
Briar doesn't acknowledge Soma's hand on their back, even if they DO appreciate the reassurance, shielding their eyes when they exit the building and looking down the street at his prompting.
"Underground, huh?" A few stores come to mind like that, so they nod to themselves more or less.
"Wh--" They look to their friend with a bit of surprise at the offer, one ear up and the other down. "You don't have to pay for it? I saved up money to buy new clothes, it's okay--" They're really not used to friends just. Offering to buy them stuff, so it always catches them by surprise.

Usagi grins at this, feeling good about this. "Actually, speaking of---I do not think I've seen anyone like you here."
Not that it's anything bad, but how rare to see someone not human, but humanoid like.

"Oh uh... I'm not really FROM around here, so I guess that's why?" They give a little unsure smile, caught off guard by the statement. "Then again, there's not a lot of people like me back home either..."
They do brighten at the mention of the stuffie, their expression relaxing a small bit.
"She will, she's looking for more cat plushies to be friends with her childhood one, and she really likes Calicos, so I'm certain she'll like it." And, if there were more cat plushies, MAYBE Briar could have an easier time washing the original...
