she really needs to get better at this whole secret keeping thing because right now all she had been doing was blatanly staring like a crazy person and they would bound to figure out something was up if she kept doing that,Ā
ā well, obviously i want to hear the fun stuff, the fun stuff is the best part. sounds great, i canāt wait to see it, i mean new york is already more upgraded than paris, you guys have all the best toys. itās a good thing i like chaotic, paris was always so routine well except for this one mission but, thatās another story, thanks for not lying to me i guess.Ā ā
so far isabelle was kind, inviting, funny and cementing her resolve that she had made the right decision and olivia is hit with a burst of sadness that sheās missed most of isabelleās life, that she never got to grow up with the other and sheās filled with a ridiculous longing for the childhood she missed out on filled with ridiculous conversations about boys, sharing clothes, fighting side by side and just having a sister. once more she finds herself having to shake herself out of her own thoughts, following along at isabelleās pace,Ā
ā chaotic or not, iām really glad to be here.Ā ā
odd behaviour really isnāt that far out of the norm there--and isabelle doesnāt know her nearly well enough to make a call about whether or not something is wrong. though she still has her suspicions about why anyone in their right mind would choose to come to the institute after everything thatās been happening.
āwell weāve got four times as many mundanes running around in about half the space, so i suppose they take pity on us and send us all the fun toys.ā new york was undoubtedly chaotic--but it was home. unlike many shadowhunters, isabelle hadnāt grown up in idris, only brief trips there told her that while it was beautiful and relaxing, it also got really old, really quick. and she couldnāt sleep without the hustle and bustle of the city outside.Ā
something is definitely going on, and she intends to find out. but hopefully itās a little less sinister than some of the other happenings around the city. maybe sheād wanted a transfer out of paris and new york was the only place desperate and disastrous enough to take her--though it did beg the question of who would be desperate enough in the first place to agree to come there. still, she smiles, always confident, always in control.
āweāre glad to have you. we can always do with some extra help around here. and at least life wonāt ever be dull.ā she conceded.Ā āalright, i think theyāve got you set up down here. which means youāre just down the hall from me--alecās around the corner in case of a crisis.ā
