one of my favourite parts about darien is that he as a character appears to be somewhat of a commentary on how trolls live/view things, especially regarding quadrants. darien is seen as a TERRIBLE BORING person for not being a perfect kismesis. kalian and cridea complain about him being too loving, too kind, too accepting- you know, like an ideal matesprit or even moirail. people treat him as a joke and a fool for basically just not having a hateful bone in his body. kismesitude is complex and always has been, and by no means is it meant to be like... abusive in nature, but you have to kind of butt heads sometimes. confront each other, challenge each other- darien just isn't that guy

honestly i have TERRIBLE memory that i tend to fuel myself into remembering by looking at posts or images i saw at the time, but since the blog is gone... eehh... i do remember feeling very interested in his character from the blog alone, that's where it all started for me, especially the things about his lusus and cridea. another thing that stood out was jerann's comments on his involvement with auspisticism... this boy has more to him and i want to KNOW!!!!

mainly a lot of stuff i mention in part 1. he genuinely just seems to be trying his best, he doesn't seen to be aware of any of the hate people feel towards him or the toxicity of his relationship. i tried talking to him like dozens of times as well just to see if there was aaaanything i could have missed.. but alas it may have to wait until full release...

most of the insults regarding him are things like "irrelevant" """weakpilled""" "dead weight (in an ask, not a post)" "a boring afterthought in her (cridea's) and most people's lives" and honestly part of me wonders if any of them even like tried talking to him for over five minutes. you cant really find out someone's character by just talking a couple times and discarding them if they're 'boring' to you. there could be a LOT more to him than we or the other violets know

oghhh this is a hard one. while he and cridea are arguably the most prominent relationship i'm more curious about him and kalian. i believe jerann said something about darien throwing him a 'pity pail' which AT LEAST implies to me that they're aware of each other beyond a friend of a friend, but it could also just be that darien is super kind and just wanted to help out his kismesis' moirail. i dont know, but i think kalian having it out for darien would be more interesting if it was more than just "my moirail deserves better." what does he know... what did he See...? i ALSO really want to know about his moirail slot!! it said he was dumped recently, but by whooo...?

i think he's a pretty oblivious person, overly friendly and doesnt really understand insults or aggressions. i think if he did, he'd be a lot less... him! it's possible that he does understand them and just tries to act like they dont hurt. i imagine he's probably polite to every troll of every caste, he doesnt seem to care that much about the system that much, or like... much else for that matter. he's just laidback and chill. i think he'd hold doors for people and on the off chance that they didnt like it or want him to he'd still just smile and walk off with his day and respect their wishes. as far as we know this guy is just your average kind-hearted joe and i love him for that. i also imagine he's empathetic towards most people, even those he doesnt know, but his loyalty to cridea does seem very apparent and would likely take priority. if she tried to put him in a rough place where he had to choose to do something she wanted or help someone i think it'd be hard for him to decide though
