it was supposed to be a free to play mmo, but the problem with that is the mmo market was and still is oversaturated, and fable is a cult classic yes. okay. but it would have been impossible to make back the 75 MILLION DOLLARS.... that went into production from microtransactions alone. it didnt get much traction because people werent really interested in deviating from a single player fable game. but yeah it got cancelled a month before the release date 👍

ive seen people claim fable: the journey (xbox kinect) was the final nail in the coffin, but fable legends was that nail in my opinion. it was a money sink + was produced closer to when lionhead announced it was closing. whether or not the game would have been actually good is debatable. theres probably some playable version of the game in microsofts attic collecting dust, but its lost media

I really REALLY REALLY think the entire Fable franchise has the best art style. I'm a bit biased because it's a childhood game series and also a series I've been replaying to prep for the reboot

I adore both the opening cinematic and the tutorial of playing through the last day with your sister that Fable 2 opens with

You don't have to do the morally good choices, and in the long run, I don't think those choices matter half as much as the rest of the choices you make later

But they guide you through the concept of having good choices and bad choices and getting to make your own, and the consequences of making those choices as the npcs around you will react in real time to if you're good, selfish, or if you seem to have trouble deciding

It's such a fun little window into the game and I fell in love with it all almost immediately
