I always get so fucking mad when I remember that it’s actually a 16-year-old Algerian girl who influenced BOTH Picasso and Matisse. and. No one gives a rat’s ass about her work which was very focused on women and nature. History -or people dare I say- didn’t bother to remember her name because she was a young Algerian woman and no one cares about Maghrebi/Arab women. unlike P*casso & M*tisse who both became legends, almost gods both during their lives and after their deaths, no one knows her.

History teaches us that there cannot be peace between the rich and the poor, between millionaires and workers. Historical experience teaches that there are only two alternatives: either the rich exploit the poor or the poor free themselves by wiping out the wealth of the millionaires.

we’ve talked about this so much in my history courses like…. literally all the American Revolution was about was changing who got the profits for what. and a large part of the feud that came to be was because Britain was in the process of distancing itself from the slave trade but the American colonies refused it was 100% a political revolution and not a social revolution, the founding fathers were horrified of democracy and created the electoral college because they didn’t trust “mob rule”. they never really believed in democracy and a lot of John Locke’s dumbass spent time writing pieces trying to poorly justify the exploitation that was taking place in the New World by crowing about “freedom” and “liberty” (oddly enough he never explicitly stated he wanted a democracy he said commonwealth, meaning monarchies were 👌🏽👌🏽 in Locke’s book)

yep! the proclamation line of 1763 forbade colonists from settling over the appalachian mountains. but the Trump Organization of its time, The Ohio Company, had made speculative investments on land in what is now Ohio. Guess who’s fortunes were wrapped up in the Ohio Company’s ability to return profit to him and other shareholders like Benjamin Franklin, and who would have lost that investment to the British Proclamation Line?
