The attitude towards terrorism & crime in general needs a serious overhaul. Everyone, in every country, should be taught basic First Aid, free of charge - integrate it into school curriculums & work courses. They waste years teaching kids bullshit they'll never use, but don't teach them how to save lives? Smart. Self-defence should also be taught, especially for women - because guess what, we're targetted a LOT by rapists/ abductors/ murderers etc... Lift the ban on stuff like pepper spray so women at least have the confidence to fight back. During WWII, school kids and the general public were given advice and guidelines regarding survival of bombings, invasion, spies & evacuation. Similarly, we are at war with people who care nothing for laws or human morality. We can't prevent attacks from happening, terrorist or otherwise. But we can PREPARE for such an event and help protect and save lives of others.
