can’t help but notice people love to complain about a masc shortage on tiktok but anytime i see a woman not following what society deems “feminine” the comments are all telling her she must actually be a transman in denial. i saw this in a comment section of like a 10 year old girl getting a short haircut the other day too btw

people really think "i HATE this [genre/medium], so that should tell you how good this is when i say i liked it" is a good place to start their review from. like why would i listen to you. you hate the genre/medium. the one you like is probably not very good as an example of the genre or medium.

I hate how often people discredit my views because they assume I’m white. I don’t think I should have constantly invoke the fact that I’m black and where I’m from to have what I’m saying validated. The content of my arguments should be enough. Sure personal experience has its place but this identify first trend in discourse is responsible for the erosion of a lot of critical thinking. Creates really bad habits where people lean on their identity as an appeal to authority without actually feeling the need to justify what they’re saying.
