this was the best scene from this episode of sam’s nephew touching the shield and the reason why sam’s decision to become captain america is so important. black children being able to see people who look just like them as heroes and knowing they are capable, kind, and strong enough to be as heroic as them. like sam said in the first episode “we need new heroes. ones suited for the times we’re in.” while captain america isn’t a new name for a hero, sam just by taking the mantle is changing the legacy and what it means to be captain america. and sam will make sure isaiah or no one else will erased or hurt by the mantle again.
