Harry Styles wrote Carla's song after expericeing his friend Carla listen to Simon and Garfunkel's music for the very first time. It was his introduction to their music - and has said that it was like real like magic watching Carla listen to their music. This very concept is so interesting to me as someone who just introduced Sabrina Carpenter to a friend. This friend already knew a lot of Sabrina's newer sounds however as a longtime 'Brina fan (my 2017 compared to her 2024), I knew she would love Paris. Paris is off of Singular Act I and one of my favorite songs from my early teens. The very experience of hearing music whether it be Paul Simon or Sabrina Carpenter is unique. It can never be perceived by the same person twice. My friend knew that I loved this song even to this day however she didn't realize that this song gave me so much hope as a teenager just as I don't realize how emotionally connected she is to Juno.
